Tuttosport: Werner, Icardi, Ekitike, Dia – the alternative striker targets Milan are evaluating

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are scouring the market for the right player and the right deal to reinforce their attacking department, but the two top targets will be tough to sign.

According to Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Gianluca Scamacca of West Ham and Alvaro Morata of Atletico Madrid are the two top targets but they are difficult to sign for various reasons including the formula and the costs associated.

For this reason, the management could probe the transfer market in search of a more feasible profile and some alternative names have begun to emerge.

Boulaye Dia of Salernitana is on the list and he has a €25m release clause that can be activated by 20 July, while Lois Openda was a target but he is heading to RB Leipzig for over €40m.

RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is a name they could look into, while PSG duo Hugo Ekitike and Mauro Icardi are monitored but at the moment are not main objectives.

      1. Sure, that is why 10 years younger than Giroud he has almost the same number of goals as him…Can you be serious?

  1. If we could get a loan with option for Ekitike , that might be the way to go.

Every so often PSG release players that go on to be excellent elsewhere (recently Nkunku stands out, but also Xavi Simons) and obviously with the option, it protects us in case he’s an Origi-esque flop

  2. Origi doesn’t want to go anywhere and I think they need to deal with that first! I think a similar situation could be with Rebic. They have quite high salaries and certainly put a strain on the budget that could be used differently. As for the forwards, they obviously don’t have the right idea, which is not surprising because a quality player in that position costs an astronomical amount today!
