Tuttosport: Why Fonseca’s imminent arrival at Milan may worry Florenzi

Paulo Fonseca is looking more and more like being the new head coach of AC Milan, and he has worked with one member of the squad before in Alessandro Florenzi.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report, Fonseca and Florenzi will meet again four years on at Milan after having already been together at Roma where, however, a good feeling between the two never developed over the two years he was there.

Having lost his spot in the team and with playing time hard to come by, the full-back decided to leave the Giallorossi in January 2020 to go on loan to Valencia and it was not an easy decision because of his attachment to his boyhood club.

In the summer, the Italian defender returned to the capital, but this time too he preferred not to stay and went to PSG on loan. Eventually he would end up at Milan, where he has played an important role in the squad.

Now the two will meet again at Milanello even if for the moment there is still no official announcement of Fonseca’s arrival in place of Stefano Piol. However, it is a matter of days because Milan have now decided, and the Portuguese coach is ready for the challenge.
