AC Milan are looking to close an agreement with Florian Thauvin and beat the competition to the winger’s signature, a report claims.
According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Thauvin has given bis priority to Milan who are now in the best position to close the deal and sign him on a free transfer to bolster the right wing position.
Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are willing to offer a contract worth €3.5million net per season plus bonuses, and the management are confident of being able to secure the 28-year-old, despite the interest of some LaLiga and Premier League teams.
Sevilla and Leicester City have been mentioned as the main competitors, but the Rossoneri have the advantage in the race for the player. Marseille have not given up and hope to renew him still, also hoping that the choice of new head coach Jorge Sampaoli to replace André Villas Boas will help.
