AC Milan still have Joshua Zirkzee as their number one target of the summer mercato despite the silence of the last few days, according to a report.
Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) talks about Milan’s search for a striker ahead of next season and confirms there are problems in the negotiations for Zirkzee.
The club have no problem triggering his €40m clause, but will not pay his agent – Kia Joorabchian – the €15m in commissions that he is requesting.
Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada continue to look into alternatives but for the moment the directors are still focused on the purchase of Zirkzee, having put a lot of work into the deal.
The Dutchman is currently away at the European Championship after a season in which he racked up 12 goals and seven assists in 37 games across all competitions, and remains at the top of Milan’s list.
Milan have been following Zirkzee since October 2023 and they worked intensely to convince the player regarding the project, and the 23-year-old gave his approval to the transfer and also to the contract proposal.
The deal on the table for the player is a five-year contract until June 2029 with a salary of €5m net per year, including bonuses. However, for everything to be done the commission hurdle must be overcome, and competition from other clubs, especially Manchester United.

Dobvyk starting posting better numbers the last couple of years.
Zirkzee is the better option because he has a higher upside and a player that can create and score.

Go check how many great chances Zirkzee created that his bologna teammates missed. His wingers were Saelemaekers and Orsolini not Leao and Pulisic.
Just go watch Zirkzee highlights on YouTube, if you didn’t watch him during the season, and you will see around 10 chances that his teammates missed.
You are also forgetting the fact that Zirkzee is doing this in the same league Milan plays in , not in less defensive Spanish league.
Leao and Pulisic will thrive with Zirkzee
Dobvyk plays for Girona and Zirkzee for Bologna, so similar situation.
Bologna were excellent.

Dovbik plays in a crap league. He’s been awful at the Euros, poor decision making, useless with his left foot and no aerial threat. We need players who can perform under pressure in big games. Zirkzee does more for his reputation sitting on the bench. Given the poor choice of options, Milan are probably going to have to bite the bullet and pay the commission. They’ve screwed around for too long, just as they have done over a CB. The minute the winter window closed, they should have been negotiating for next season. That’s what Real Madrid do, sign ahead of time.
My take if Milan can’t pay the agent fee to Kia Joorabchian, they should just walk away alternative are there. Good striker if they can scout very well
I really want Zirkzee to come here, he will be a great addition. But they cannot pay 15 mil to the agent. That’s 3 years of Zirkzee’s salary to an agent? Sorry, Can’t do it.
I don’t understand the player/ agent dynamic in football. Who works for who here? The players need to speak up. Can’t Zirkzee just say to his agent “Milan is where I want to go, if you can’t make a deal I will find someone else who will.” Letting you agent determine your career path? Seems absurd.
He can. If he really wanted the move, he’d already be a Milan player.
