GdS: The two changes Pioli should make to Milan’s starting XI for Empoli game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli could make a couple of changes to the starting line-up that will face Empoli tomorrow compared to the team that beat Napoli, a report claims.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), Pioli is not expected to make big changes to the line-up especially in view of the Champions League first leg next week as he aims for consistancy.

However, there are two possible changes that he is pondering, starting with the defensive department where Simon Kjaer could get a rest, with Malick Thiaw to replace him and Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez remaining.

In the middle Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer will play with Rade Krunic again, while in attack the only change should be that Brahim Diaz – who did individual work at Milanello yesterday – is rested in place of Alexis Saelemaekers. Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud, therefore, keep their spot.

  1. Don’t agree Giroud is fine and will be crucial for the next three important games ..when he starts we don’t lose many games..He is a brilliant centre forward who’s hold up play is superb ..technically inside the 18 yard area ,no one is better than him as long as we have pace around him ,such as salamakers or rafeol leao ,,,then we are a great team ..We have a team with so much pace ..So Giroud is still a top man .let’s see two goals from him against Empoli .
