Santiago Gimenez is expected to return to AC Milan in the near future, but his future may already be decided.

It has been a while since we have seen Gimenez in action. Furthermore, it can be suggested that it has been even longer since we have seen the real Gimenez in action, considering his ankle issue seemed like a lasting problem.

Nevertheless, reports suggest that he is now in the final stage of recovery and he could be playing as early as next month. But what does the longer-term future look like, and where will the Mexican end up?

Interest in Gimenez

Right now, it is difficult to see the striker staying at Milan past the summer, unless there are drastic changes in his performances. He has not been the man that the Rossoneri hoped he’d be, and that means it may be better to cut their losses.

If this were to be the case, interest would be present. As the Sunderland Echo relayed from Tuttosport, the Black Cats are still at the door for the striker that they considered as recently as the January mercato.

West Ham are also at the door, but whether either team are seriously considering a move is unspecified. It is worth noting that the report states that at least £21.8 million will be required, which equates to around €25m – a €7m loss for the Diavolo, given what they paid 12 months ago.

  1. Sell him for 20-23M and get another meh CF in hope of the meh CF will explode and become a superstar. And then sell the superstar CF for 70m. Moncada cannot spot sh!t in the market. Moncad!ck proposes, C.untlani approves. Tare and Allegri sidelined. Forza Milan.
