MN: The two reasons Lukaku does not appeal to Milan despite ‘perfect destination’ wish

There are a growing number of reports claiming AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign Romelu Lukaku in the summer.

It is well known that Milan are in the market for a new striker and given that they do not have the budget to go out and get one of the elite names, they are likely to look for opportunities to add the right name(s) on financially advantageous terms.

Why Lukaku does not appeal

Based on reports in the past 24 hours, Lukaku could be a surprise addition to Milan’s attack this summer. According to what MilanNews have reported, the Belgian has proposed himself to the Rossoneri with the hopes of becoming their number nine for next season.

Lukaku is currently in the midst of a rift with Napoli, one that stemmed from the last international break when he did not report for training when expected. He ‘sees Milan as the perfect destination’ to restart and return to competitiveness after the various problems suffered this season.

Considering his contract expires in 2027, Lukaku could be a great opportunity for Milan, with his scoring record and physical build. However, the Rossoneri are not entirely convinced by the operation for two reasons: his physical condition and his salary.

The situation could change in the coming weeks, the report claims, while Lukaku is still being courted by clubs abroad, especially teams in Saudi Arabia and Turkey. The 32-year-old has played 170 Serie A games in his career, with 85 goals and 30 assists to his name in that time.
