AC Milan could meet with the agent of Julián Álvarez over the possibility of bringing the River Plate striker to Italy, a report claims.
Alvarez has burst onto the scene somewhat at the age of 20 with River Plate, impressing in the Copa Libertadores to the extent that he was named in the Argentina squad that were eventually crowned champions of the Copa América.
However, European football seems to beckon for the young striker and he could depart the Argentine capital in favour of a move across the Atlantic. TyC Sports (via Marca) reports that Álvarez’s agent is in talks with several European teams who are expressing interest.
So far only enquiries have arrived but he could meet with AC Milan’s management in the coming days to gauge their interest in signing him. It has been reported that Milan want a young centre-forward to learn from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud, whose arrival seems imminent.
Alvarez has a release clause of €25m but there is competition from Aston Villa who could present an offer of €17m.
