Udinese director warns Milan over Samardzic pursuit: “A fair offer”

By Ben Dixon -

AC Milan are interested in signing two midfielders this summer – one of them being Lazar Samardzic. Today, Gianluca Nani has spoken about the chances of the midfielder leaving Udinese, with the Rossoneri chasing.

Milan struggled largely with their depth last season across several areas, and their lack of different midfielders played a large part in the struggles of the campaign. Therefore, during this mercato, there is a clear goal to improve this area.

Youssouf Fofana is a leading choice to be added to the squad, and a report from this morning suggests that the Diavolo have made a new bid for the Frenchman. However, Milan also hold an interest in Udinese midfielder Samardzic.

Whilst the club have been focused on adding a more defensively-minded profile to their squad, there is also a desire to add a player like Samardzic, who is more in his element in advanced areas.

With Milan pursuing the midfielder, Udinese’s Technical Director, Nani, spoke to Sky Sports about the midfielder’s future, and his words have been relayed by Calciomercato.com.

“Samardzic is a strong player, so I would be surprised if he is not wanted. He is an important player for us and so I would like those looking for him to consider him as an important player. If someone who wants him would make an important and fair offer for the player we would sit down.

“It can happen in the market, but we are not the ones to propose it. When the negotiation with Inter vanished then he came back to Udine and like the great professional he is, he returned to his reality, playing and performing and completing a good season.”

  1. I think wrap the deal for Fofana is more important. Tij and Puli can get in to that position, and also we have Liberali, who can called up anytime

    1. same opinion. CAM is not an issue. we need to sell Adli and Pobega and get Fofana and Ricci to finish the mercato. I don’t also mind Camarda promotion over Tammy signing.

    1. Milan futuro isn’t a plan then?

And not every young players have to be forced to play with the senior team.

What’s with the obsession over youngsters breaking into the first team?
Not every kid is yamal, endrict, erc

      1. The Futuro team is a great stepping stone for the youth players. They’ll be playing in Serie C against grown men, all while they are still developing and their bodies are growing. I understand the likes of Liberali, Camarda and Zeroli playing there for one year. But one year only.

    2. Since AC Milan has Libareli there’s no significant need for Sarmadzic and the Management should just wrap up the Fonana acquisition and when there’s need for either Libareli or Zeroli they can be invited from the Futuro before hand.

And since Pulisic and Tijjani will be the trequatista this season buying Sarmadzic will amount to waste of resources and should have retained Luka Romero to understudy Chukwueze instead of loaning him out for meagre buy out option.

If I were to be AC Milan Technical Director, my template without much spending would traject AC Milan to the top of the world football in no distance time because am genius blessed by God Himself.

  2. They gotta sell. His contract is until 2026 and he is not gonna sign a new one, not with all the offers he is getting. This is their peak time to get max € out

  3. I really hope somebody has a plan, because it all seems very haphazard.

Are we playing 433 or 4231?
Because while there is always a need to be tactically flexible, we need a set system to build the team off.

If we are playing 4231 then most of the midfielders we have don’t suit, particularly those signed last summer.

    I don’t understand their priorities
We have multiple right backs and we want to sign a RB
Yet we have no back up LB

We have multiple b2b midfielders and no DM and we are after Samardzic

We have multiple strikers and we are after another

  4. Need to sell before we can bring him in. Time for the chopping block.

Adli clearly can’t even get a start. Pobega is useless aside from the Italian quota. Flo is done. Alexis should be sold (regardless of what anyone says). We need to be healed of the disease that B Toure and Origi have become…

    Who else am I forgetting?
