PM: Uncertainty at Spurs could aid Milan in pursuit of on-loan Juventus winger

AC Milan’s interest in winger Dejan Kulusevski does not seem to have gone away and there could be an opportunity this summer, a report claims.

PianetaMilan recall how Milan tried to get Kulusevski in the 2022 January transfer window but he ended up moving to Spurs, where he found Fabio Paratici – who was at Juventus before – and then head coach Antonio Conte.

The situation has now changed though as Paratici is suspended and Conte has left, so it is not certain that Spurs will turn Kulusevski’s loan from Juve into a permanent deal. The loan with option will become a €35m obligation to buy if two conditions are met.

The first is that the player takes the field in at least 50% of Premier League matches this season for at least 45 minutes per match. This is a condition that Kulusevski meets as he has already amassed 23 games, with 2 goals and 6 assists with 1,730 minutes total playing time.

The second, however, is that Tottenham qualify for the next edition of the Champions League. This too is possible but Spurs are three points behind Newcastle United and Manchester United but with games in hand, so it is not certain.

Conte’s farewell, Paratici’s absence (the man who wanted him in London) and an uncertain fate for the team could effectively bring Kulusevski back to Juventus. Then, Milan would try again and could get him for less than €35m given Juve’s desire to monetise and the fact his deal expires in June 2024.
