This evening, AC Milan have been given a boost as Rafael Leao should recover in time for Sunday’s Serie A return against Hellas.
Leao has had a tough season so far and has missed a fair few games through injury, with him currently coming to the end of his latest spell on the sideline. Of course, the hope was that he would be ready for the Supercoppa fixtures. However, that was not the case.

Massimiliano Allegri stated that it would all depend on the early stages of training this week, so it was not a surprise when he missed the game against Napoli, but it seemed he would be ready for the final if Milan had made it there.
Their not doing so is probably an advantage, with no one pushing for him to return before he was truly ready.
Leao and Gabbia updates
As MilanNews writes this evening, the goal is for him to return to group training in the next few days, to be ready for Sunday’s game against Hellas Verona at the weekend. A welcome boost, certainly. However, it seems he will be the only returnee.
Matteo Gabbia was expected to return this weekend, too, but it appears this won’t be the case. He is working daily, but he should not be ready for this weekend.

I know some milanisti might not like this BUT not only is leao absent for 80% of the time during every single match (though sometimes he scores!!!), he is now very often out injured for long periods. Can someone tell me how many matches he missed last season and so far this season? Sure figures are not very reassuring!!!!
