La Gazzetta dello Sport confirm that Milan had a positive meeting with Oliver Glasner on Tuesday. Now, they will meet another head coach candidate in Matthias Jaissle, and will also have further discussions with Ralf Rangnick.

The alternative route (and not a Plan B, the paper say) leads to Pochettino. His coaching career has so far taken him to Espanyol, Southampton, Tottenham, PSG and Chelsea at club level, and now he’s coaching the United States in a home World Cup.

And by the way Italy has lost to Boznia herzegovenia and North Macedonia in failing to qualify. I’m pretty sure Costa Rica is tougher than either of those teams.
Our players are going to Europe to play because that’s where the best competition is and it’s a good sign for the U.S. that so many of our players are good enough to play there. That didn’t used to be the case. Nobody denying that at the youth level the U.S is years if not decades behind other countries but it’s probably the 4th or 5 th most important sport here, what do you expect.

I’m not here to defend Italy’s national team, have a go at one of their supports if you like. The US registers 2.5 million players to Italys 700k so I’d expect better players. The idea that soccer isn’t popular in the US is outdated. Poch is a dinosaur just like Allegri, his day in the sun is over. I don’t expect pep or Klopp but I do expect forward thinking.

Who wrote this, they have a lot wrong in the article as a whole. Comparing his position to Ragnick is a bit dumb, firstly Ragnick if he does sign isn’t coming as a coach, Poch isn’t coming as a technical or sporting director so why is there comparisons being made about control?

Nothing wrong with Poch, at Spurs he did great, prior to that at Southampton he did also great. At Spurs I even know the culture, seen him work on a weekly basis, how he handles the team and the stars.

I am not for Poch or against him for ACM, I just think there is a revisionist history being presented. He helped a newly promoted Southampton finish 8th. Spurs became a top four team. He took youth players, including Harry Kane into the big club. A difficult spell at PSG as Messi turned against him. Of note is that PSG didn’t get better in the CL until Messi, Neymay, and Mbappe left. Puch is a manager that wants to play with space and is not fixated on one formation. He tries to maximize the strengths of his players.

This is good and bad news. The bad news is they want to hire a scapegoat, expect same results. The good news they want to hire pochetino plus another useless mercato, chances of gerry selling will increase as they will miss out on CL again. Boycotting if nothing serious changes should be the final nail in the coffin for Redbird era. Are we sure Cardinale is indeed as hopeful and desperate for the top 4 money, as everyone says he is? Because it seems like every decision he makes points to the exact opposite. He is fully supporting mediocrity, completely unaware of what our competition is doing or what’s happening in the locker room.
