Verona manager paints underdog picture ahead of Milan clash: “It might not be enough”

By Isak Möller -

On the eve of the clash against AC Milan, Hellas Verona manager Marco Baroni spoke to the media at his usual press conference. He stated that the Bentegodi side will have to play their ‘best game’ to clinch a win tomorrow.

Milan are currently on a four-game winning run and after reclaiming second place last weekend, they will be looking to stay there. Juventus will face Genoa in the early game tomorrow, so the pressure could indeed be on the Rossoneri to win.

Speaking to the media at his pre-match presser, as cited by MilanPress, Verona manager Baroni shared his thoughts on the game. He stated that it will be a very difficult clash for his team, also saying a few words about his former payer Filippo Terracciano (now at Milan).

On Milan…

“When you play against these teams, it’s always difficult. Perhaps it’s their best moment too, I have respect for the coach but we have to look at ourselves. We have to play our best game and it might not be enough anyway.

“We have great respect for Milan, they have champions who can decide matches with one play but you don’t defend individually, you defend as a team, you play together and as a team in these matches.”

On Terracciano…

“He has had a great opportunity, he will be able to grow and I wish him well, there will certainly be a chance to say goodbye.”

Terracciano has not exactly had a cracking start to his Milan adventure, but that was never really the plan. The Rossoneri know that he needs time and a loan could perhaps be on the cards in the summer, as consistent playing time is essential.
