Full-time! Three huge points for Massimiliano Allegri’s men to bounce back from a tough period. Back in second place as well in the standings, which should be a good confidence boost.
As for the actual performance, it was far from our best this season but at least the Rossoneri relied on the basics.
Four minutes added on.
Saelemaekers is denied a goal, with his effort blocked on the line.
Okay, so the offside call before wasn’t actually on Gabbia, but rather Gimenez in the build-up. Correct decision it seems, therefore, but those ones always sting.
Massive block by Gabbia there to deny Verona what looked like a certain goal.
On: Nkunku.
Off: Pulisic.
That looked onside to me, but VAR says offside. Not quite sure on that one, will need a better replay.
Gabbia scores but the flag is up for offside. Let’s see here…
Tomori is down with an injury, which isn’t ideal. Let’s see if he can continue.
Milan have felt pretty comfortable in this lead, but Verona haven’t been completely toothless either. The Rossoneri cannot afford to switch off.
On: Gimenez, Saelemaekers, Ricci.
Off: Leao, Athekame, Fofana.
That could have been a second yellow card for Akpa Akpro, but he somehow avoided it. Pretty blatant foul and a tactical one too.
Abuse is being hurled at Maignan. Hopefully that stops immediately. You could see the referee have a word just before the second half, so they will surely keep a close eye on how this develops.
45 minutes to go. No changes by Allegri for the second half.
🙌 One goal to the good thanks to Rabiot’s finish.

Not the best first half, but the goal is all that matters at the moment. Verona sat back and defended a lot, making it difficult for Milan, but Allegri’s men at least managed to create when space emerged on the counters.
That probably should have been a goal. Really good chance for the home side but Maignan did really well to keep out the 1v1.
Two minutes added on.
There it is! Adrien Rabiot finds the back of the net with a calm finish, following a nice run and a good pass by Rafael Leao. Verona were a bit outstretched there, i.e. exactly what Milan needed to break through.
Verona 0-1 Milan

Rabiot with a shot on target after a counter of sorts. It seems Milan will have to catch Verona off guard to break the deadlock here.
The solidity at the back has definitely been restored, but Milan are massively struggling in possession. Most of the time has been spent passing the ball around in midfield and defence.
Milan haven’t quite been able to break down Verona so far, except when given the chance to counter. They will need to improve their longer spells in possession.
Nearly a penalty there, but the challenge on Rabiot was just outside the box. Free-kick in a good position for Milan.
That’s… typical. Pavlovic sets up Leao brilliantly on the counter but the No.10 completely fails his dribble, losing possession in the end.

Nice assist from Leao and nice finish from Rabiot. Finally we broke the defense, now it is time for Corto Muso i guess lol
Not pretty but effective i guess
Job is done and we got 3 points, i don’t mind 🤣
Still my cardiologist says I should stop watching the matches haha
Athekame seems to be much more useful and “stable” on RWB than Saelemakers
are you kidding?
No. Saelemakers runs like a headless chicken 90% of the time and complains to the refs like a high school kid. Adding to that he is a defensive liability
Interesting. I feel like he’s one of the most important players, offensive as well as defensive wise.
Both outside backs were pretty useless in the 3-5-2.
That was not offside…
3pts. Mission accomplished! Next!
