Video: All smiles as Milan manager embraces Chelsea loanee Tomori after fantastic display

By Isak Möller -

Fikayo Tomori was one of the best players on the pitch for Milan tonight, as they managed to beat Roma 2-1. The Chelsea loanee made several crucial interceptions and showed why he deserves a permanent spot in the XI.

Alessio Romagnoli, the captain of the team, has been disappointing in recent weeks and Stefano Pioli thus decided to bench him. Therefore, there was probably a lot of pressure on Tomori to perform, but it didn’t seem to bother him at all.

In our player ratings, he got 7.5/10, the highest of the Rossoneri along with Franck Kessie and Ante Rebic. After the game, Pioli embraced the defender, as you can see in the video below.

  1. We’re all so pleased by Tomori, yet, when I read Maldini’s statement today, in which he says nothing about signing him permanently, it gives me worries! Obvioiusly, everyone are emotional regarding Romagnolli, but if they can’t be professionals and realize that Tomori is the future of Milan’s defense, then it’ll be very bad for the team! From what I understood, it’s not even 28, but 25 mil which Milan would have to pay to Chelsea, and that’s a bargain deal, for such a young & quality player we need desperately!
Boy, I hope we get him at the end of the season!

    1. Dimitri, Maldini is the only one actually being a professional and not an emotional child. Tomori has looked good, but a handful of games is a lot to shell out 30m. He’s being cautious. We have an entire half season left so he’s going to wait until he has seen enough games and if Romagnoli doesn’t step up and Tomori continues to perform then we will look to sell Romagnoli and redeem Tomori. It’s really that simple. Only a bad leader and emotional child would make a decision after a few games.
