Video compilation shows De Ketelaere should have better numbers for Milan

Charles De Ketelaere is yet to score for AC Milan since his big money move from Club Brugge in the summer, but his attacking output should read higher numbers.

De Ketelaere is adapting to a new league and a new country at the age of just 21, but he has been perhaps guilty of snatching at certain chances to add to his tally of one assist so far in the early season, as seen in the win over Monza when he fluffed a late chance to make it 5-1.

However, as the video below shows, he should certainly have more than just the one assist…

  1. I don’t think anyone doubts his passing. I for one expected more on all other fronts. He doesnt press well. Off the ball movements are lazy. He has no aggression and he can also do a lot more when on the ball. For 35m I expect cted more right away but that doesn’t mean it’ll eventually come

  2. I see no problems with cdk at all, he has been dropped into team with no pre season with his teammates at all, he has created many easy goalscoring chances only for teammates failing to convert them, he had a goal disallowed because giroud was offside by mm and he has fluffed two chances and media are all over him. If he scores a few goals they will move on to another player, anyone doubting this kid is a fool

    1. Agreed. He had another goal denied by VAR because of Origi offside and if Tonali and Hernandez finish his brilliant assits against Atalanta and Juve, his numbers would be a lot better. Numbers are not everything. He just can’t let it get in his head.

    1. I agree 100% with this you Tyo. CDK has quality, that is clear. Pioli is giving him plenty of opportunity to find his niche. This is the right approach. But, there are other players who are not getting enough time like Adli and Vranxck. If he is not in full form yet, those others should get some playing time in order to develop and grow the overall depth of the squad.

  3. If you guys can count how many players missed their chances from CDK pass, that means CDK had not done that much. I dont understand why people criticized Sandro so much in his first season while he came in cheaper price and cheaper salary. Even after the scudetto some people still saying that people is overhyping Sandro. Now you can clearly see, who is being overhyped. “35 mil, young and promising, next KDB and Kaka, experienced player in UCL.”

“He lacks of pre season preparation”. Yes, but how many time he plays as a starter? He has a lot of game time compared to whole Milan pre season campaign.

I know something is not right when your transfer competition is only Leeds and Southampton.

  4. I love how hard people are working to make excuses for this guy. The fact is he has not been good so far, and his body language is terrible. every time he gives it away he hangs his head and walks rather than hustling to win it back. Zlatan better have a talk with this kid.

    1. There are others on the pitch that have much worse body language. I don’t really see that as a problem for CDK yet. He just needs to continue to work hard. His transfer fee will grant him alot of opportunities to grow as the club does not want such a large investment to shrink in value. This is the club’s strategy to bring in young players and develop them, often taking a few months to get it right. They have been remarkably successful at this and I don’t see why this would change.
