Video: Romagnoli arrives in Rome and poses with Lazio shirt ahead of move – “Finally”

By Oliver Fisher -

Alessio Romagnoli landed not long ago at the Fiumicino airport in Rome ahead of completing his move to Lazio on a free transfer.

Tomorrow morning the player will undergo medical examinations at the Paideia centre and will officially join his boyhood club, after leaving Milan seven years after joining. Romagnoli has already had the opportunity to pose for photos with the Biancoceleste shirt in his hands and even said one striking word to the crowd who were present: “Finally.”

  1. I read that he signed a €2.9m per year 4 year deal. If true then I wo der why we didn’t renew him for that amount. Maybe the player wanted a club where he’d be a starter.

    1. Yep, plus he wanted to go home.
When you have already made enough money to never have to work again if you are not a greedy bastard you can follow your heart, not your wallet.

  2. Sad to see him leave…one of few protagonist characters around Italian players, just hope Milan don’t regret his departure. I feel he’s been mistreated (though we fans don’t know the real truth).
    All the best Romagnoli.

    *Forza Milan*

  3. We really made a huge mistake on this one. We are literally searching for CBs that we are trying too pay 30m for…. we could have just renewed Ale at a healthy contract and been done with it. No respect given for Ale from this management. Disgusting. Good luck Ale and thanks for always being a perfect professional while you were here!!

    1. No Milan didn’t made a huge mistake for this one.

      1. Milan offered €3 million and Romagnoli didn’t accept it.

      2. €3 million salary for a backup is a lot and that’s not counting the tax that Milan must pay. Meanwhile Tomori, Kjaer, and Kalulu who plays BETTER than Romagnoli got paid less than him.

      3. It’s about time Milan find a new and better CB than Romagnoli.

  4. Lazio has been the team he has supported since he was a kid so i dont blame him for leaving us on a free transfer to join them but i will miss him nevertheless, He had also lost his first team spot and it was highly unlikely he would be able to reattain it so i think he propably made the wisest choice to move on even if he was offered the same at milan. I believe he has always represented the club the best he could and im sure he will rejuvenate his career by this move.
    best of wishes to him.

  5. He absolutely deserves 1st team football, he is a great professional and he was one of our best players in our darkest times. He also made zero fuss about his contract, no drama or media attention at all. Unlike some, he protected the club to his last day of contract and even after it expired. He earned our respect and I wish him all the luck of this world in Lazio. It has been an honor to have such a pro as our captain.

  6. Good luck Romagnoli. He is doing his best even he know AC Milan will not extend his contract. He deserve starter at lazio ,it is better than sit on bench watching kalulu- tomori starter . I would be glad if he can take lazio to runner up in serie A below AC Milan 1st next season. Grazie Romagnoli for your 7 years in AC Milan

  7. I never thought he was good enough to be Milan captain but he helped us through some hard times and was always a professional. I think the high expectations (new Nesta?) and the weight of the captaincy got to him. Then Kjaer, Tomori and Kalulu came, and he became a bench warmer. But he can still start for Lazio, they definitely need him. Good luck Alessio!

  8. I wish you the best, Alesio!!! You will stop giroud and origi 11 times out of 13 tries, i believe that.

Although the other 2 would result in our goal, Lazio (0) – Milan (2)
