Video: Tomori explains why he opted to take the No.23 shirt at Milan

By Isak Möller -

Fikayo Tomori was announced by Milan on Friday evening, securing the centre-back on a loan deal from Chelsea. The 23-year-old was rushed into the squad vs. Atalanta and could soon make his debut.

As mentioned, he was on the bench last night even though he had barely trained with his new teammates. Perhaps against Bologna, who will host Milan on Saturday afternoon, Tompori could make his debut for the club.

In an interview with MilanTV, which you can see in full below, the defender explained why he chose the No.23 shirt.

“The first thing when I saw was 23, I’m 23-years-old, so I thought ‘okay, I’ll choose 23’. Someone like Michael Jordan, I look up to him a lot and he wore 23 so I think that it made a lot of sense for me to choose number 23,” he stated.
