Former AC Milan forward Christian Vieri believes that the club could have made a very smart signing by getting Luka Jovic, who is ‘strong, strong, strong’ according to his old team-mate.
Milan closed the transfer market with 10 signings but it was their pursuit of a new centre-forward that caused the most drama given it went into deadline day and saw a number of different players linked.
The Rossoneri managed to get a deal for Jovic over the line with less than two hours remaining in the window. It has since been confirmed that it is a free transfer from Fiorentina and therefore it a permanent deal rather than a loan, with a one-year deal signed plus an option for a further three.
Christian Vieri spoke during his show BoboTV and he gave his thoughts on Milan’s acquisition of Jovic, something he believes could turn out to be a very positive move.
“Everyone in Florence is sad about Jovic’s farewell. I was having dinner in the same restaurant as the Viola striker Sottil and he told me that he is strong, strong, strong,” he said (via PianetaMilan).
“He wasn’t able to demonstrate his value in Florence, but he is an incredible player.”
