Virtus Entella 1-0 Milan Futuro: Bonera’s side suffer first defeat in league debut

By Ben Dixon -

Unfortunately, AC Milan Futuro were unsuccessful in their first Serie C outing, but it is not all doom and gloom for Daniele Bonera’s side.

The Milan Futuro project is still in its early days; with that, there are guaranteed to be teething issues. In the first few months of the idea, there have been plenty of positive signs, inside and outside of matchdays.

Looking back to last weekend, the side registered their second competitive victory in two games, so there are obvious signs of positivity attached to the project.

Therefore, yesterday’s result against Virtus Entella is not something to be massively worried about. After all, it was only a 1-0 defeat with Andrea Corbari netting the winner. It also must be said that the hosts looked slightly more deadly in the final third.

However, positives can, and more importantly must, be taken. Once again, there were several indications of progress within the fixture for Bonera to take note of, showing that although the result may not have been what the young Rossoneri side wanted, they are continuing to move in the right direction.

Another important thing to note is that the Ligurians are one of the sides who are expected to push for promotion to Serie B this season – given they have heaps of experience at this level – so an opening-day defeat is certainly not a worrying sign.
