Ardon Jashari is watching his dream of joining AC Milan slip away, as Club Brugge remain adamant on getting more money even after the Rossoneri’s improved offer.
The negotiations between Milan and Club Brugge have been tiring to say the least, as we also saw with Charles De Ketelaere, but this time there might not be a happy ending. Indeed, despite the improved offer tabled yesterday, the situation hasn’t improved massively.

Milan already have an agreement with the player, who’s pushing for the move, but finding one with the Belgian is proving to be easier said than done. Soon, with the mercato moving fast, they will have to shift focus to other targets.
Jashari pleads with Brugge
As told by Antonio Vitiello in his latest YouTube video, Milan have put €33.5m on the table with ‘very, very easy bonuses’ to reach €35m, while there are additional bonuses (more difficult) to get even higher. In short, we are talking about a significant offer.
Furthermore, as soon as the new offer was tabled, Jashari called the Club Brugge directors and ‘begged’ them to accept. Since the feeling is that the negotiations could fall apart, the midfielder has a very ‘low morale’ and is very disappointed as his dream move is at risk.
At the end of the day, if the move were to break down, it’s the player who will suffer more so than Milan. The Rossoneri will be able to find other options on the market, perhaps using some of the money for another position, but the player will remain at Brugge.

If they were aware of brugges demands beforehand it’s the management’s fault for relying too much on jashari pressuring his club, but if club brugge raised the pricing mid transfer window to favour premier league clubs that overpay with transfers then it’s a matter of principle for milan not to deal with them ever again especially after their media circus and demeanour.
Just walk away and look elsewhere. Brugge don’t have to sell unless they get the 40mil. At this point they aren’t doing this on principle.

At this point Brugges can do what they like. But if i am an agent and I know i have talents in my hands.. if Bruges comes calling, I am signing a 2 + 1 contract.. not sure I would go long term with them except it’s a pretty hefty Salary.
I would agree if Jashari and his agent didn’t sign a new deal with Brugge to be paid more. Not even 6 months after he was signed. Now the player is repaying their trust by boycotting training. He will do the same for Real Madrid, Liverpool, City or some other club in 2 years. Of course he will say he supported them as a kid.
I understand what you are saying.. it’s not a good look on him but it seems to be the way players get their moves.. just look at how it’s playing out with Newcastle.. I think it’s a wide spread industry standard for dark arts in transfers. From the little I know about how transfers actually work, I also think the agent has given an indication to Tare, that this is should be enough to get over the line. Because so far Tare has been doing OK and has experience in this. I know people say we knew how much they wanted, but how many transfers really go for the initial asking price in reality?.. For all we know, it might be in the works smoothly but the media need their fix as well.

I know only of Gyokeres but he allegedly had a deal with the club that was not honoured. The difference is again, Jashari didn’t have a problem to commit to them 6 months ago and take more money. If it was common practice I would know many players. Some do it, I don’t consider them players Milan should sign. Doesn’t matter which player it is. But definitely not common. I could remember maybe 10-20 players that did this. We have thousand of transfers a year.
But I can agree with you it is becoming more common. I still think it is down to personality of the person. You can’t boycott the club that made you a known player and why they’re interested in you. For me, it shows clear lack of any class and actually should deter clubs from signing people like that.
It could just as well be Brugge who decided that Jashari shouldn’t be part of the pre-season. That is very normal procedure whenever a player is in negotiations and might leave…

No you are completely right in this case. I support Milan since the CL final in 1995 against PSG. First game I watched. Boban and Savicevic are the reason I begun supporting Milan.
Just a small correction here Milan never played a cl final against PSG. In 1995 we played against Ajax and in 93 against Marseille and Barca in 94.

No worries as I had actually forgotten about the semis but PSG rarely did get the chance in cl as other teams dominated France at that point even if I recall them winning the UEFA Cup or Cup Winners Cup in the mid 90ies. You didn’t miss out on anything to be fair as I remember I finished 9th grade that day an basically boycotted the party as I wanted to see the final to the dismay of of my peers 😀 And we all know how that match ended.
Offload Musah and bring in some extra cash for the midfield. Milan hast lost nothing other than time. It has been conducting other transfers in the mean time. Tare did not make the same mistake which Maldini had. We will still be bringing in a CB or a RB, and a CF to complete the team. Club Brugge and Jashari are severely harmed in this saga. No, Club Brugge does not have to sell, go ahead and keep the player.

Lots of people talk nonsense here and blame Milan in this situation. Of course this is not a “sinners and saints” situation because all 3 parties have their blames, but Milan are maybe the lesser evil here. Facts are:
1. Jashari renewed WITH THE PROMISE of a big club with a fair offer for him will be accepted. At this point, any fee above 30m it is more than fair, and Milan offered 35m
2.- Agent let Milan know that Brugge wanted 32.5 so they can break the CDK record for a transfer in Belgium. Milan did offer that, but then Brugge managemente got greedy and tried to create an auction with EPL teams, when Jashari already let them know he just wanted Milan. And he rejected any offer that was not from Milan
3. When Brugge tried to play hardball, it is understood that Jashari asked Milan to raise the offer a bit to satisfy Brugge like the last one sent. And that is when Jashari has begged Brugge to let him know, and for now, looks like this transfer saga will end here without a happy ending for Jashari or Milan.
I have to mention, also, that Tare words yesterday are of course well thought and motivated to put pressure on Brugge and to get an immediate answer, positive or negative, so either Milan get the player or look elsewhere. Tare is no rookie in these matters and he has made everything right.
Maybe Jashari is not for us and that is fine. What I do not understand is why Brugge pretends so much for a player who will drop his value next season if he does not won again the best player of the season…. which of course is far from a given and more probably not likely
Point 1 and 2 didn’t happen like that. He renewed to get more money. Brugge did not have any need to give him a new contract since he signed a 5 year contract 6 months before that. Where did you get this info? Made it up? Right? His agent told Milan? Where did you get this info? And you know that amount was communicated by Brugge to the agent? It wasn’t just an opinion of the agent? So much false information in this…
You can find that info if you dig a little. In fact, it is common knowledge. A contract renewal does benefit both parts, because both parts agreed to something. Don’t be naive, Jashari was going to earn more BASED in what he showed in the pitch. And now he was going to make Brugge 6x what they paid ONE year ago. Be real FFS….
Everything revolves around a million or 2, which is small for a big club. Milan has not been a big team for a long time and that’s where the problem lies. That this player has talent and will become a top player, and you dropped him for 1-2 million, is tantamount to disaster. On the other hand, it can be average and you lose money on it, which would not be the first time (Pjatek, Paqueta, CDK). To find out what Jashari would be like in Milan, he costs 1-2 million and it’s frustrating.
This is a fair and reasonable offer. Move on and find someone else. We can’t be held for extortion.

This will not happy ending for jashari & brugge. Keep unhappy player for 2-3 million euro are too risky for brugge,his value can drop to 20m euro if he play unhappy. For ACM not big problem, ACM can move on find another midfielder or just use RLC ( yunus musah ) – modric ( ricci ) – fofana ( bondo ). Jashari budget will be removed and allocating for striker. But i personally still hope jashari will coming to ACM but looks like the chance are too low now
They knew the asking price. Wasted valuable time negotiating with a club who told them clearly, take it or leave it, pay 40 million euros or look elsewhere.
They should have done their due diligence on market prices before selling their best player in that position. Again, they waited last minute to assign a director and sold their best player before having a realistic understanding of the costs related to his replacement.
Clubs will not release their best players for minimal fees especially after selling a significant portion of their squads in the current window.
Here we go, into the new seasons with less than a month to gel new players together, after making the exact same errors last few seasons. Disheartening to say the least.

Through out this entire saga, one question I have asked myself constantly is doesn’t this lad have an agent? If so his agent is honestly terrible for letting him take all this flak from the media, and Club Brugge. If anything, the player should at most state his opinion on preference of destination once (or hint at it via a complement or two) and then stoically let his agent handle the public conversation. Also, Brugge are not ok with us! Whatever the reason, sticking it to our mgt and cutting him down a notch by blocking a transfer is win win for them. Even if we offer full 40M, this figure is an ‘Unofficial valuation.’ Translation, they have never quoted this figure as their sell price & might say they have a larger offer from elsewhere which we must exceed/that they think he will go for more next July, or 2027 July post WC even & is off the table till then, notwithstanding his personal wish. My take, they already suspect we are leaking every development in the sag to the media, so if we are then stop. If it’s his agent, then he has to stop. It’s not working clearly and Brugge use it to justify a hardline stance. We can only put 40M flat on the table and hope the are gentlemen (which they clearly aren’t) or move on with Guerra + say Ferguson. At this point, Brugge has us chasing our own tails. Step back, maintain radio silence with Brugge, read the market and consider alternatives as any objective buyer would do. Unless that is, we have no backup plan which bodes worse than the status quo as it would speak volumes of our managers!
