Vitiello: Leao ‘disappointed’ with Milan and has asked agents to explore transfer

Rafael Leao has dropped down the pecking order under the management of Paulo Fonseca and he’s not too pleased with the situation. According to a report, he has even asked his agents to explore a transfer.

Milan will face Monza at U-Power Stadium tonight and the latest reports suggest that Leao will be benched once again. Given that he was almost untouchable under Stefano Pioli’s guidance, the situation has taken a 180-turn and the winger is now considering his options.

According to Anto Vitiello for Corriere dello Sport, as cited by @garante_il on X, Leao is ‘disappointed’ with the treatment he has received from Milan and Fonseca over the last few weeks. In fact, he has even asked his agents to ‘explore other destinations’.

If things were to continue like this, as Vitiello concludes, Leao could even decide to leave Milan. The No.10 has a hefty release clause of €175m in his contract but there’s no doubt that his valuation has plummeted since the start of the season.

Barcelona have previously been interested in the player but even with a lowered price tag, it would be a very difficult operation for them to make. Perhaps the Premier League could be the solution, but for now there are no concrete options.

  1. After him, Theo and Maignan will follow. The 3 players that made this team be a bit better than average.. Another decade of banter transfers and “moneyball”(that wont work) incoming 🙂
And ofc. fonseca wont last till the end of the season btw… 😀

  2. This is the guy we paid that lille fine for.. you do guy a favour and This happens. Instead of working hard to improve he wanna make move.. heh

  3. The best player that took us out of the banter era. One of the best players milan have had in years and alone he is worth more then half the team together.

This management hold your heads in shame. When leao leaves and magnian and theo follow.

I won’t watch milan again until this banter era is over or this management leave and the coach ofcourse

  4. Let him leave. If you’re going through a rough patch and starting on the bench a few games then you work hard and fight to get your spot back. You don’t complain and ask for a transfer. Also his valuation probably dropped significantly last year also.

  5. It’s actually the other way around Vittelo.
    Milan is disappointed with Leao.
Best move for him is either Saudi Arabia or MLS.
Players with his effort play in those 2 leagues. In Europe no one will tolerate Leao the way Milan did all these years and are still doing.

  6. If Leao is out, i just thinking that we should buy some of this player:
    1.Chris Rigg(17)-Main Position(CM)
    2.Luca Orellano(24)-Main Position(RW),AM,LW
    3.Abdukodir Khusanov(20)-CB
    4.Dario Osorio(20)-Main Position(RW),LW,LM
    5.Eliesse Ben Seghir(19)-Main Position(LW),ST,RW
    6.Jhon Arias(27)-Main Position(RW),AM,LW
    7.Sverre Nypan(17)-Main Position(CM),ST,AM
    8.Amar Dedic(22)-Main Position(RB),LB,CB
    9.Andrija Maksimovic(17)-Main Position(AM),RW,CM
    10.Gustavo Sa(19)-Main Position(AM),CM
    11.Diego Leon(17)-LB
My hope is, as a Milan fan…I really want to see one of the players on this list play for Milan.Forza Milan…
