Vitiello: Milan ‘frontrunners’ in race for Chelsea defender – the formula

By Isak Möller -

Trevoh Chalobah is expected to leave Chelsea this summer and has ended up on the radar of AC Milan, as the latter are looking for a centre-back. In fact, the Rossoneri are one of the frontrunners.

Fikayo Tomori could reunite with his former teammate Chalobah this summer as Milan are evaluating the possibility of signing him. Alessio Romagnoli hasn’t been replaced yet and with just a few days left of the transfer window, now might be the time.

According to Antonio Vitiello, Milan are ‘frontrunners’ in the race for signing Chalobah on loan. The likes of Inter and Leipzig are also interested in the defender, whose exit should materialise once Chelsea have announced the signing of Wesley Fofana.

The alternative for Milan, as the journalist concludes, is Schalke 04’s Malick Thiaw and he could arrive on a permanent basis rather than on a loan. The coming hours could provide some more updates on the matter.

For now, tough, Milan will have to focus on tonight’s game against Bologna (read our preview here).
