It was made very clear during AC Milan’s 2-0 defeat to Juventus last night that reinforcements are needed in midfield and attack. Especially for the latter department, but everything depends on last-minute opportunities.
Tammy Abraham was the starting striker for Milan last night and despite playing 79 minutes, he had zero shots (not even one off target). Alvaro Morata hasn’t exactly been brilliant this season, but even he was truly missed in the big game.
In addition to the struggles up front, Milan failed to play out of the press most of the time and the midfield lacked the energy needed. In short, reinforcements would be very good for both departments. According to Antonio Vitiello, it will all depend on opportunities at the end of the transfer window.
Sergio Conceicao and the directors agreed during the mid-week summit that both departments could use reinforcement, but it’s a matter of feasibility. For example, Joao Felix is one of the names at the top of the list according to the journalist, but Chelsea might not be willing to let him leave on an initial loan.
In the final days of the mercato, some clubs might be more desperate to offload certain players and this could be beneficial for Milan. For the fans, on the other hand, this approach is very frustrating.
Lol, that is to say “we ain’t buying any players but we want to pretend as if we are buying to make it seem like we are serious.” The coach is setup to fail, I don’t expect him to perform magic without quality players.
Ya, because their idiots who can’t get it through their heads that their cheap masterplan is blowing up in their faces, and go cause loss of European football. They just assumed their strategy to buy a few players on the cheap could keep us in top 4, and now refuse to acknowledge the mistake
Pitiful.
Maybe the management like the odds…? I mean, they have tried getting cheap strikers and midfielders for ages now and Giroud being the only successful one, the odds are that the next successful one is getting one step closer. Just 7 or 8 more purchases and one of them MIGHT be an actual reinforcement, right? 😛
They act like we’re 17 points clear at the top of the table… There’s 10 days left in the transfer window and all we’ve done is land Kyle Walker?
The painful part is we see smaller clubs breaking thier transfer records trying to make statemnet signings to improve thier team but here we are trying to sign 5 players with a potential 25mil sales of our defender. It’s a pity state and what a time to be a Milan fan.
“It’s a pity state and what a time to be a Milan fan.”
Hey, let’s not forget we won the prestigious super coppa trophy this month! That makes us the best Italian club in the whole wide world, right? Best of the best. Who cares about scudettos and next season’s UCL when we can always think fondly of the amazing and super-important trophy we won?
Because there’s no money. The club made a €4.6 million profit last season. That’s is a tiny profit. The €100 million mercato in 2023-2024 was an anomaly, only possible because of the Tonali sale. They tried to push that fraud Tomori out of the door, but the fool Conceicao sees something in him that no one else has in his entire career.
Well now that we won’t make it to the UCL next season, we will make even less money and next season we won’t have all the revenues from UCL games, so good job.
Did they seriously expect that we will fight for something with signings like Royal, Pavlovic, Abraham,… and a coach like Fonseca ? Did they take the 4th place for granted ? Or like we can pile up as much garbage as we want, they will never be more than 3 clubs in serie A who will be better than us ?
They inherited a club which, while it had issues to be solved, was on a good path and just needed fine tunings. You could argue that Maldini should have lost his job but all we had to do is replace a man with another, not revamp the whole club strategy.
In the end, you reap what you sow.
If money is all that matters, then they should definitely spend some to get some. Missing out on the UCL train is the worst thing that the club could do (financially speaking). Surely the management can’t be THAT stupid now can they??? (It was a rhetorical question as we all know the answer.) 😛
So conceicao is a fool now.
Wait between you and conceicao who is the professional coach with multiple trophies. Cos I could’ve sworn it was not you.
Oh well🤷♂️🤷♂️
These guys are shameless
Frendrup, Joao Felix…
Emerson, RLC and Jovic can pack their bags…
Finally, Kayode going to Brentford??? are we that dumb? Walker and Kayode in instead of Emerson and Calabria would fix our defense once and for all…
The dude with a Milan shirt in his avatar;
actually said that the management will correct their transfer mistakes in the winter.
He’s shown up here in the comment again
It’s such a firework to watch each time he’s proving him flopping with his own comments..
But.. He is one loyal Redbird Fan, don’t hurt him..
he may be Cardinale’s recent hire.. hahahahh
Let them sell the club to the Arabs, because they cannot invest.
The Arabs cannot invest either. We’ve spent more than Newcastle over the past 2 seasons. Understand how modern football finances work.
Two short clowns….
It’s clear that under this management there are no better days.. They don’t want to invest but want profit 🙄. Only way is Curva Sud to start boycott games, maybe some things will start to change. Otherwise, don’t expect big changes.
As much as I despise the current management, I am actually fine if we don’t purchase anyone this window and use the remainder of the season to regroup and have 6 months headstart to sort of plan for the next season. Though I doubt they’d do that. 🙂
That would actually be better than another scattershot approach and just buying anyone that has two legs and available at the end of January. What kind of planning it is, if we rely on the “leftover” of the other teams? I know, I know, sometimes this kinda deal might work – but this won’t hide the fact that we were desperate and the sporting department is being ran like a headless chicken.
We all need to face the fact that this season has been disastrous – apart from the Supercoppa triumph. But like 2016, that trophy can’t paper over the cracks of our terribly ran club. Imagine this, selling our “fifth best RB” (like some of you smart poster said) to a direct rival for a minimum fees and then buying a player who can’t even start at, with all due respect, Spurs. Only to buy YET ANOTHER ageing, soon to be 35yo RB six months later. What is this? I’m sure many of this site’s posters can plan better than this.
Every loans that we did this summer, Adli, Pobega, Saelemakers, Daniel, Kalulu, Vasquez, Colombo – have all found more success in their respective teams than with us. So what’s wrong? The scouting? The coaching? The players? I sincerely hope they use this 6 months to reflect and identify what direction are we heading next. Because this has been a clown show after a financially-constraint, yet successful Elliott’s era.
It’s only fine if it means Conceicao turns to Futuro and the Primavera. It’s only fine if it means Barteshagi and Zeroli are given a chance ahead of Emerson, Musah and the other duds.
Bartesaghi, Zeroli & co. can’t really do worse than Emerson & Musah now can they? Playing them would also raise their value (as it’s the only language the management understands… eh sorry, they don’t understand it either but they’re at least attracted by it).
People going on and on about how we should be buying but we need to be able to move players on and sell to free up squad space. Both management groups have played a risky game with lack of homegrown players and that means squad space is at a premium, unless we want to keep racking up costs on players who aren’t even in the squad.
Probably not a problem with Walker as he’ll spend most of the time here injured anyway.
I must be honest Acmilan don’t suppose to loose to Juventus is the management fault that’s was why I said Acmilan problem is not Fonseca fault even Sergio conceicao the coach in terms of tactics Acmilan still loose is a shame Acmilan supposed to sign attacking midfielders and wingers. We need fredup as defensive, we need Aklioche and Joao Felix for attacking midfielder then we need Tricia or ritsu Doan for chukwueze deputy while we then after this signing we can switch pulisic as leao deputy very simple and we are here talking rubbish.
We need midfield depth, 100%.
Top clubs across Europe go to the limit of allowed losses in search of success. We are asked to get excited about profit and then told there’s no money.
Get real or get out.
No, they don’t. Stop making things up.
Yes, they do. Stop being so contrary, you’re inconsistent and boring
People are not going to like this so here goes. If they can get rid of Chuck and RLC and get Gio Reyna for 15 ml, do it. He can be a backup RW and backup 10. He has a Portuguese passport so no issue buting him on. I’m not saying he’ll be great but a decent backup. His potential is certainly higher than RLC. Also, training at Dortmund you know he learned the game. Chuck seems lost.
Reyna is complete and utter trash, he cannot stay fit and his needs his parents to fight his battles for him.
Targeting players from clubs that sit at the bottom of the table, what do you expect to achieve? Clowns.
Joao Felix is like Emerson Royal in attacking department….one of the most overrated player ever.
Will you please remove the pic of those 2 sewage rats immediately?
Hunting last minute leftovers.
Joke owners without any ambitions.
Conceicao must be questioning himself.
RedBird is a joke.
Lemme guess…..”opportunities” again, right?
LoL, stop that kind of BS. Talk about rasford, Joao Felix but no money..Use primavera or futuro. They’re Italian and will be ready, because this season has already finish.
Change Cardinale and all director and advisor.
jeri think Serie A is cheap league w/ other clubs run by stupid management, he need mirror..
Hopefully Milan will bring in Francisco Trincao and Benjamin Sesko.
Hands up who saw this coming? These two are worse scouts than Laurel and Hardy…
Yeah, my money is on ManCity offloading Haaland and Moncada will lure him in.
