In recent years, AC Milan have fallen victim to repeating the same errors and even on the football pitch, they are bad for it.
It has become a bit of a constant cycle for Milan now. They make mistakes, attempt to fix them in the summer, hope to plug new holes and are then presented with the same errors in the run-up to the summer mercato.
Put simply, the Rossoneri have failed to solve some issues that have been in place for a season or two now. For example, the striker situation is not a new one. In fact, Olivier Giroud was still in Milano when they arose.
Time for honest truths
The loss to Napoli has rebirthed these issues, with a pessimism once again surrounding the club when a different outcome in 90 minutes could’ve brought hope. This afternoon, Antonio Vitiello wrote an editorial for MilanNews about the situation and it is rather scathing.
“So it’s really bad. Losing without even trying can’t be a good message. Milan comes out badly from the Napoli stadium because they ended the match with half a shot on goal (that of Fofana in the first half), then at a certain point he really disappeared from the field, except to return to the final with some confusing action dictated more by despair.
“Honestly, Milan have to do more.
“We need more courage, we need more resourcefulness, and instead the Rossoneri have produced another sterile game in the offensive zone, and so it’s really hard to reach the finish line.
“What stands out once again, unfortunately in the negative, is the attack of this team. Practically useless at Maradona, yet Allegri has put in five different players. He started with Nkunku and Fullkrug, then he added Gimenez, Pulisic and finally Leao.
“Five attackers with different characteristics and not even one who has seriously shot on goal. A valley of tears. Those for physical reasons (Leao and Gimenez), some for mental block Pulisic who hasn’t scored for 100 days), some for obvious technical limits (Nkunku and Fullkrug), no one is having a performance to match in Milan.
“This is a fundamental reflection in view of the next championship. The Devil must have a player who scores, an element that makes the difference. Clean up there in front and start again in a serious way with thick players. Otherwise every year we are here always talking about the same things, about an unfinished and disappointing Milan.”

Exactly. Signings made last season were just bad. Maybe we’ll get a new sporting director that knows how to buy title winning teams? And anyone to replace Furlani.
These forwards are not playing in positions that suite them. That falls on Allegri.
Don’t be naive that fall on Furlani-Moncada-Ibra wasting each year more 100 millions to end up with foders like Nkunku and Jashaari.
This season is going to be long…. still
Damned dark ages Italians who don’t understand that winning is boring.
Striker issue has been a 10+ year problem and only had temporary relief when Giroud and Zlatan came back . Their presence was meant to buy us time to build someone else up but then they fired Maldini and we went back to square 1. Cardinale can make Milan the richest club ever , but at what cost? We will continue to be mediocre as long as he keeps the same profile of ppl in charge including himself
