Dusan Vlahovic’s future remains a mystery, but in the meantime his winner for Juventus against Lecce could hurt AC Milan’s chances of landing him.

On the night he returned to Juventus’ starting lineup after months out due to injury, Vlahovic scored one of the fastest goals in club history and gave a crucial boost to his team’s chances of securing a spot in next season’s Champions League.

There’s still a lot to be done, with Roma and Milan yet to play in the current round and with Como also having won, but Juve needed it. He would have scored twice, had it not been for the intervention of VAR.

Future still a mystery

What does the future hold? TMW report that it’s still a hot topic and ‘almost a taboo’, despite the growing number of optimists in recent months regarding the possibility of him signing a new contract and extending his time in black and white.

Head coach Luciano Spalletti would like him to stay and has suggested so publicly. Vlahovic, for his part, has always responded well when called upon, and now with a goal that could change his fate. His goal in Lecce-Juventus, for example, could impact the future of Massimiliano Allegri.

Allegri is now under increasing pressure along with his Milan side to secure a Champions League spot. The problem is that – should they finish fifth or lower – there’s a scenario in which he won’t even be the Rossoneri’s coach anymore. Perhaps Vlahovic’s fault in part?

Then, the future of the former Partizan striker comes back into play. The Diavolo have been mentioned among the potential landing spots for him, but without a place in Europe’s top club competition and the money it brings, it seems unthinkable.
