CM: Juventus striker offered to Man Utd – why the response boosts Milan’s hopes

Dusan Vlahovic has been offered to Premier League clubs but nothing positive has come, meaning AC Milan might be his only option.

Despite all of the talk in the last 48 hours about a move for Darwin Nunez of Liverpool, Vlahovic remains the most linked name when it comes to the striker position for the Rossoneri, and it is because of his situation.

Striker issue next

According to Calciomercato.com, once the arrivals of the Swiss pair Ardon Jashari and Zachary Athekame have been confirmed – from Club Brugge and Young Boys respectively – the Rossoneri will be on the hunt for a new striker.

Milan are looking for someone to play alongside Santiago Gimenez and compete for a spot. While Nunez is a target and is on his way out of Liverpool, his costs are high and he is in negotiations with Al-Hilal, coached by former Inter man Simone Inzaghi.

This, Vlahovic’s name remains in the crosshairs. The Serbian striker has less than 12 months on his contract and Juventus’ directors would prefer to sell him abroad, but so far all attempts have been unsuccessful.

After turning down the offer from José Mourinho’s Turkish club Fenerbahce, the Serb has been offered to Manchester United. However, the Red Devils have other plans for the attack and are competing for Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko with Newcastle.

The Mapgies have offered Leipzig €80m plus another €10m in bonuses, while trying to fend off Liverpool’s bid for Swede Alexander Isak. As a result, the dominos may not fall into place for Vlahovic to go to England.

  1. Why are we so eager to help Juventus? He is an ok attacker but now more of a party prince, according to rumors in Turin, and he is draining Juventus for 12 million yearly.

Even if he is willing to half his salary, he would be among the highest earners in ACM, and how would the dressingroom react to that? They might be ok if he scores +20 goals, but will he?

And what about Gimenez who were bought 6 months ago?

I’m confident you can find attackers of same quality, but to a quarter of Vlahovics cost.

This obssesion with Vlahovic and helping Juventus just dosen’t make any sense.

    1. He’s a tall physical player with characteristics that would suit Alegris style of play. Getting him for less than 15 milion would be a bargain price especially if he drastically lowers his wages. They are exploiting Juves situation more than they are helping them. It makes total sense
And i see very little players that would be cheaper to get and offer as much as Dusan does

    2. Why is us getting a prolific N9 who has understanding with our current coach and always performed under him, “helping” Juventus?

We are gonna sign him for 10-15M when Juve paid for him 70M, not only that but capping at 6M salary, instead of ridiculous 12M…

You all cheered when Kalulu left cause he was “broken”/”overrated”/”perma-injured”… that only changed when he delivered and started playing well again… you clowns will do the same with Dusan when he scores 15+ goals…

      1. You are right King. Not sure how can someone call getting a striker the new manager is asking for “helping Juventus”.

      2. You are barking up the wrong tree as I didn’t cheer when Kalulu left. Quit the contrary. Don’t accuse me of something I didn’t do.

        He IS overrated.
He IS overpaid even at 6 mill, and I doubt he will accept even that. He might be worth 4 million.

        He haven’t “performed” that well under Allegri. His stats in Juventus;
Season 23/24 33 matches and 16 goals and 3 assists equals 0.58 goal involvement per match.
Season 22/23 27 matches and 10 goals and 2 assists.
equals 0.44 goal involvement per match
Season 21/22 15 matches and 7 goals and 1 assists.
equals 0.53 goal involvement per match

And you think that is worth 6 million a year????

We have Gimenez, we just need a backup for him.

        1. Are you seriously trying to point out your opinion is more important than Allegri wants? Stop being ridiculous.

        2. You should call Massimiliano and tell him he has no idea. And explain how bad Vlahovic is. He coached him for a few seasons and spent years with him in training so he has no idea.

      3. Where are you seeing that ACM could sign him for $15m (and pay him $6m/year)? I agree that the reported $10m-$12m a year in salary is ridiculous but why would Juve set his transfer fee at less than a Musah or Chuku, for example?

Would love him at ACM. No Premier League team is going to pay him that much in salary, hence the lack of interest. We shouldn’t, either.

        1. final year in his contract… he ain’t worth 20+ M

also, leverage is key… he is frozen out, costs them 22M per year and no other coach wants him except for Allegri

his final year on the books costs 18M, that’s 40M just for a player they don’t even want to have… so now what is better?! -40M or -3M?

    3. “I’m confident you can find attackers of same quality, but to a quarter of Vlahovics cost.”

Name one, just one. There is absolutely no one better than Vlahovic available for 10-15 m. No one.

    4. Because the budget set aside for a striker is a joke and 20mil gets you Vlahovic who knows the league and has worked under Allegri thankfully, otherwise this move would be even more questionable …

So you either get a maybe with Vlahovic or some unknown from Belguim/Switzerland who not only has never been heard of before but also would have to learn the league …

    1. Arguing is pointing out how stupid and pointless what you wrote is? You don’t know anything about football, Allegri has 6 Scudettos. Who to listen to? Hmmm, it’s hard…if Allegri wants him that is it. For the price it is a bargain.

    2. 10-15M for Vlahovic is a steal… in every context imaginable!

The only thing I agree you on is that Sure is special needs…

    1. Fake ACM Fan? I went to games before you were born. To actual games in Milano. Your pathetic attempt is almost as stupid as you.

  2. You are missing my point.
Vlahovic is too expensive compared to what we can expect he delives. Value for money, and money for value.

My last reply to you, my little friend.

    1. You don’t even know how to reply. How about you master that high skill before trying to pretend being smart?

  3. Dipstickery…my term for maintaining one’s position when a superior alternative argument is proposed.

I’m with Max (and King and Sure).

  4. 15mil is a steal. But we all know what’s gonna happen if he doesn’t drop his salary request..waste of time, effort when our beloved Milan walks away from this deal. Leaving it till the last days might smooth over talks with Juve for a lowball deal…have we even tested what this guy’s salary expectations are should he decide to make the move. And that is why the argument of a plan B should be in place. But surely he will come cheaply if he drops his salary within our ceiling ( not holding my breath on that one)

  5. It’s interesting how we’ve gone from looking for a striker with defensive work rate, who participates in the build up gaze, to one that is more static and hangs out in the box. To me, it’s another indication that Max will end up playing 3-5-2 in a low block, as there will be more men behind the ball to pick up the defensive slack of Vlahovic and Leao, versus the prior philosophies of using 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 and high press. It also explains why we haven’t bothered signing proper LB and RB backups. Estpinan and Athekane will be wingbacks who will benefit from na extra CB and if they go down Saelemaekers and Jimenez can fill those roles without having to be top defenders. I guess I was naive to think Max would return to 4-3-3. But maybe I’m wrong and will be pleasantly surprised…

      1. From a different thread this AM, I am going to trust Max that he has a plan to optimize Pulisic’s skills.

  6. People are obviously in their good rights to have a different view but for me Vlahovic is an absolute steal if we can get him for 10-15 mil at half of his current salary. If we doesn’t wanna cough up with that amount we can always see if Juventus is willing to accept that the money they owe us for Kalulu is cut short for the deal.
In my view the best deal for the money available in the market and we actually do need some competition up front to keep them focused or in the event of an injury.
