Di Marzio: Vlahovic’s Milan move ‘ruled out’ this summer thanks to Harder’s arrival

Massimiliano Allegri may be left upset this summer, with AC Milan not set to sign another striker during the mercato.

Since Allegri has been linked, there have been questions about Dusan Vlahovic. In fact, there has been a persistence with the Serbian, despite the ideas, everything has normally fallen back to the striker whom Allegri knows so well.

Though Milan have always seemed to have an ace up their sleeve. Rasmus Hojlund, Victor Boniface and now Conrad Harder. Though it seems the latter will be the last pulled.

Harder: The chosen one

Last night, Gianluca Di Marzio offered some information about the rest of the mercato, and most worryingly was an update about the striker situation, which MilanNews relays.

“The player was expected this evening, but the formalisation process took longer than expected. Everything should be finalised overnight so that the player can leave tomorrow morning, Tuesday, for his medical. Harder’s acquisition rules out the arrival of another striker.”

Considering the work for Vlahovic had been ongoing in recent days, and that the Rossoneri are now reportedly considering a swap with Alexis Saelemaekers, the picture is a little murky. However, if Harder is the only one to arrive, there would certainly be questions.

  1. So our entire season will depend on a Denmark u21 striker coming from foreign league where he played one full season? No pressure kid.

        1. Well, the biggest downside is obviously if this guy performs like Hojlund at United as he is not experienced. We all hope he scores like Haaland but that is wishful thinking, not realistic.

    1. Don’t worry we got Gimenez 😅 (who I like, by the way, but hasn’t proven himself yet – we need a proper target man)…

    2. Exactly, is this not crying out to pick up Lockman on loan (same terms as Hoijlund), would give us both the experience, fire power and with Lokman, Leao and Pulisic we would have the X factor.

Or even Mois Kean instead of Lokman!!, come on management, head the words of Don Fabio!!!, Allegri needs strikers!!!!

      1. Lookman is a winger that plays in Leaos position.
It doesn’t even make sense. Or is Lockman some guy I don’t know and not Lookman from Atalanta?

        1. Lokman has played up front and the way him and Leao could interchange could be pure magic for us, if he had no strike instincts he would not score the goals he does especially the hat from the final

  2. The move isnt even confirmed yet!!
We risk having only SAnti Gimenez lol. Way to just ship out Camarda, Jovic, Abraham…

  3. It’s been reported that Juve proposed a Salemaekers – Vlahovic swap ( the management are thinking it over) which would seriously change all the pre- seasons work in an instant.
We would get the proven goal scorer but Allegri would have to scrap the 3-5-2 and go for a 4-3-3.
It really doesn’t sound like solid planning , instead it’s all becoming another adhoc patch up scenario.

  4. I can’t wait for the derby or match against Napoli where we won’t be able to break a low block and will have to pray for Harder or Gimenez to make a difference last 30min. Bizzare

  5. It is reported that the kid can also play as a winger, which would be the only upside to this deal, especially when you think of Jovic, Colombo and most of Camarda – are we sure these three are that inferior to Harder? Very doubtful. Then again, it’s the Holy Algorithm that decided what we do on the transfer market, so looking for logical sense is pointless. At least Gimenez will get a confidence boost, the guy probably had a good laugh with the “twist” ending of our Vlahovic pursuit.

  6. instead of signing someone who is unproven even while playing in a league easier than Serie A, it would have been better to keep Okafor or Camada. in my opinion Harder is not better than Okafor. if we are signing a striker, it should be one who is visibly an upgrade to what we had or have. Harder is not an upgrade, Boniface would have been an upgrade, because he has proven himself in the Bundesliga unfortunately he failed his medical.

  7. I am sure Jovic would score 20 goals in a season in Seria A only if he got a support and proper chance to play. It’s insane how we let some great players to leave and now they are trying hard to purchase some heavily injured or never-heard-of players from danish league!?
