Vlahovic reveals his idol amid Milan links: “The player I like the most is Ibrahimovic”

By Oliver Fisher -

Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic has revealed in no uncertain terms that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is his idol amid links with a move to AC Milan.

Several sources have reported that the Rossoneri see him as a potential replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the long term given his impressive exploits, and MilanLive recently confirmed that the management are monitoring his situation.

Vlahovic’s contract actually expires in June 2023 and there is nothing to suggest that a renewal is imminent which means Rocco Commisso could be forced to sell him next summer in order to monetise and avoid the risk of losing such a talent for free.

The Serbia international spoke during an interview with DAZN and was asked about a player that he takes inspiration from, and once again the named Ibrahimovic as the man he looks up to.

“My idol? The player I like the most is Ibrahimovic for his character and desire to never give up. He never lets anyone to command him, in addition to his outstanding plays,” he said (via MilanEye).

“After the game in Florence where we lost 3-2 I took advantage when he might not be angry to ask him for his shirt. He signed it for me. We took a picture and he wrote the dedication in our language. He told me to go on like this and never give up. I am not very good at speaking when I meet an idol.”
