Of course, last summer was underwhelming for the Serbian. However, he was in a situation that didn’t suit him, both tactically and environmentally. So, a change could be the best thing for all parties.
Severance pay to become possible
This is powered by his contractual situation with Juventus, too. As La Reppublica report, the striker could leave this summer by mutual consent, with the Bianconeri struggling to find anyone willing to pay his wages and transfer fee.
However, as MilanPress relay, a €10 million package could be agreed to allow him to leave this summer. At this point, the Diavolo would pounce, but they would only offer €6m per season, which would not be enough.
Next season, as Tuttosport (via Football Italia) writes, the striker wants to earn his €12m per season salary. If he does not, then he will seek in in severance from the Old Lady. In other words, Milan could then pounce on a lower wage with Juventus effectively covering the rest.
Work needs to be done, but it is impossible that the Rossoneri are the ones to cover his package next season at its current rate.
Don’t pay him more than Leao, otherwise there will be problems with the Portuguese. Don’t offer more than 20 ml to Juve. They should be happy with that otherwise they will get nothing next year.

Last time I saw this guy being good was at Fiorentina. And even there he wasn’t really a top gun. Don’t really understand why Juventus paid 70mil for him, don’t understand now why Milan wants to pay 25 and give him big salary.
On the other hand… there are no real alternatives, if Pioli wants big guy like Giroud at 9.
The alternative is Lorenzo Lucca, who just scored 12 goals in 33 Serie A games with the ever defensive Udinese. He’s 24, Italian, and would cost no more than 30M and 3M per year in salary. Why we haven’t just closed that deal is beyond me.

Indeed, Dusan on Fiorentina was lethal. Lucca is interesting as well. But him being Italian, hence the inflated valuation being 30 mil-ish now, making him not really that interesting.
Those stories don’t make any sense, Juve won’t pay him to go – they might heavily discount a transfer fee for him but he’s not going to be available on a free.
And if the player isn’t willing to sign for something more akin to his real value, then I don’t know why we’re nothing anyway – I don’t believe that part though, he and his agency will know he’s not getting close to that money again.
A termination is a logical choice tho. With no club showing a real interest, the only choice is to cut loss. And that too won’t make signing Dusan any easier for yus as free agent nowadays isn’t really free after all.

While I don’t like this deal, I think some comments here are unfair to Vlahovic.
The guy did well for Juve under Allegri, especially in Allegri’s second year. Not super, but he was good.
The two issues I have with this though are:
1. I still think we should be fully trusting Santi Gimenez, and invest the money in players we need more, and he will cost less.
2. Vlahovic’s attitude off the pitch is questionable. He comes off as pretty entitled, and never puts the team’s interest ahead.
