Kyle Walker will not be available for AC Milan in Friday’s game against Udinese, but there is some hope that he could make a quick return.

In a statement on the official website that was published on Tuesday night, Milan announced that Walker sustained a fractured elbow which required immediate surgery, an operation that was ultimately a successful one.

It is one more problem to manage for Sergio Conceiçao, who loses one of his most experienced players ahead of the remaining Serie A games and in view of the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Inter.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) explains that Walker will certainly miss tomorrow night’s match against Udinese and the subsequent league match at San Siro against Atalanta over the Easter weekend.

However, there is a small glimmer of hope for the return leg of the cup derby, scheduled for April 23. The condition of the full-back’s elbow will be monitored day by day and next week the player will have a check-up, after which we will understand more about his recovery.

Who will play in his place? With Emerson Royal still out, Alex Jimenez is the clear favourite over Alessandro Florenzi to start from the first minute against the Friulians. The Spaniard will be available again to Conceiçao after missing Saturday’s match against Fiorentina due to suspension.

  1. If royal sustained a broken elbow, he’d need 3 months recovery in brasil while milking his pay check and hanging out at the beach al la Neymar
