Kyle Walker has briefly reflected on his time at AC Milan, claiming that it didn’t work because he needed a ‘familiar club’.
Walker arrived at Milan on loan from Manchester City during the winter transfer window, and while he made a positive initial impact things did not remain that way. In addition to suffering an elbow injury, the Englishman lost his starting spot.
As a result, reports emerged before the end of the season stating that Walker will almost certainly return to Manchester when his loan is officially up. It was already known that he would not stay there though, because Pep Guardiola considers his City time to be done.
Walker speaks
Having recently become a new player for Burnley, one of the three newly promoted teams in the Premier League, Walker spoke briefly about his time with Milan.
“It’s been great to watch from the outside looking in and knowing some faces at the club already. I’m excited to start the season already,” Walker told the club’s YouTube channel.
“At this stage of my career, being at a great club that I’ve been at for a number of years…I went overseas [on loan to AC Milan] and tried that out, but I just felt that I needed something that was a family club.
“I’ve been around the place and my son is there training at the training ground and you can feel the aura around there and what the owners are trying to do and I wanted to be a part of that. I want to be a part of the success.”

Yeah Milan sucks Burnley>Milan confirmed
Then why didnt he go to Bayern. Bayern is a family club
I think it is a good move for him. Of course he will be in a team that will be in the lower part of the PL. But it won’t be the same pressure for success as at City or Milan. He served City well, good luck to him at Burnley
This step just makes us 100% sure Milan did the right thing to let him go. Guy expected to be a quality veteran at Milan, ended up at team that played few weeks ago in Championship…
Remember when people were lining up to praise his “game-changing” transfer as the solution to all of our problems? Lol. Even Saudi didn’t want him…
List of PL players that succeeded in other leagues in the 21st century:
David Beckham
Scott McTomminay
Jadon Sancho
Fikayo Tomori
Tripier maybe
And that’s basically it.
Talk to me about quality, tactical readiness and adaptability
I missed Garret Bale but my point stands
Is that all you missed?
Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham are arguably the best players in their positions in football today.
Try naming the Italian players that succeed in another league next.
Zola
Vialli
Di Canio
Balotelli
Ravanelli
Cudicini
Harry yes, my bad. But Bellingham has never played professionally in PL.
As for your point regarding the Italian players, nobody claims that Seria A is the best league and has the best clubs in the galaxy.
And another thing. You didn’t go what about this guy or that guy or 10 other guys
You put Jadon Sancho in your initial list who never played professionally in the EPL when he had actual success. He has been dog 💩 since he started playing in the EPL. Why would you then exclude Jude Bellingham from the list? Both of them came thru the youth teams of the EPL teams.
How about Lukaku being the best player in serie A? Does he qualify for an EPL player? He has been in the EPL since he was 18.
How about Steve McMananan playing over 150 games for the biggest club in the sport?
If you gonna put Tomori on your list than you need to include Chris Smalling, who was very good at Roma.
Healthy Tammy Abraham, in his 1st season in Roma scored 27 goals.
RLC, while healthy had 10 goals in his 1st season at Milan, and only healthy season.
Tell me about quality, tactical readiness and adaptability you said.
Came in, gave it a shot – it didn’t work out but respect to him for trying and for moving to Burnley – could sit on Man City’s bench and collect millions but he wants to keep playing. Probably will have more success organising a defence in a more compact setup.
He’s lost a step or two which resulted in him getting torched by wingers.
Aka bro coupdnt find a single top level club that was willing to play him. Buddy was playing in a supposed slower league and was still getting cooked like Katsu each week
