Wanda Nara, the wife and agent of Mauro Icardi, revealed an interesting background on the Argentine striker’s rumoured moved to AC Milan in the summer. In fact, she admitted that he could have joined the Rossoneri.
Inter wanted to sell their star this summer due to their relationship with the player, which attracted the interest of several clubs. In the end, he ended up at PSG, though Wanda Nara explained that this choice wasn’t easy.
“There was the possibility of bringing Mauro to Milan. Going to France was the most difficult choice for me. Obviously, a choice like Milan would have been more comfortable, but a team like PSG is the best choice for his career,” she said during the Tiki-Taka show (via MilanNews.it).
As reported by La Repubblica (via MilanNews.it) on the final day of the transfer window, Icardi would have seriously considered joining AC Milan just to stay in the city. Recently, he built a new home there, which made his decision even harder.
On the other hand, the Rossoneri already have Leao and Piatek for the centre-forward role. Given the money that they have invested in the duo, bringing in Icardi wouldn’t have been the smartest choice for their growth.
