Watch: Abate’s furious reaction when Milan Primavera slowed down at 2-0 up

By Isak Möller -

Ignazio Abate and his Milan Primavera claimed all three points from the clash against Lecce earlier this morning. However, the head coach wasn’t too pleased with his side, despite being 2-0 up in the second half.

Diego Sia gave Milan the lead in the first half and Filippo Scotti followed that up with the second goal in the next half. It was a strong performance from the Rossoneri, who bounced back from the league defeat last weekend and also gave Abate a nice birthday present.

However, Abate wasn’t too pleased with his team after they had scored the second goal. As you can see in the video below, he was furious because they slowed down. He didn’t want them to squander the two-goal lead, as happened against PSG mid-week (a game they won, though).

The Primavera managed to preserve the lead, also thanks to a great save from Noah Raveyre, and thus claimed all three points. One can’t help but make the parallel with the first team, who completely collapsed in their clash against Lecce. In truth, they were lucky to even come away with one point.

Some have suggested that Abate should take over Pioli’s duties. However, the manager is still very young (37) and could do with a few more years on a lower level.

  1. I think he’s becoming a good coach but too early to promote him to the senior team as he might not succeed in managing the Ego of the top players… Few years more with more trophies will speak ❤️🖤

  2. He has the right mentality which can make him into a top coach, he is our future. Let’s give 3-4 more years than we can integrate into the first team,

  3. Inzaghi also did fantastic with the Primavera and then he failed as first team coach. I like Abate but I don’t think he is the answer to Milan’s problems
