Watch: Besiktas fans welcome Rebic at the airport – “I can’t wait to start”

By Isak Möller -

Ante Rebic has arrived in Istanbul and will soon complete his move to Besiktas. An agreement was reached between the Turkish side and AC Milan on Friday, after which things progressed fast.

Rebic arrived in Instanbul earlier this afternoon and he was greeted by some Besiktas fans at the airport. Many journalists were also present and the Croatian winger shared some words on the move: “I’m glad to be here and I can’t wait to start, to meet my teammates and the coach. I will wear the number 7 shirt.”

You can take a look at Rebic’s arrival in the video below. After four years at Milan, he has now embarked on a new chapter.

    1. We won’t get a dime on Caldara.
Best case scenario he’ll agree to terminate the contract and we’ll save 2.5 mil in wages

        1. Last season he wasn’t good at Spezia. Spezia got relegated, and he could barely break into their first team. And when he did, not good at all. Unfortunately Caldara is the kind of player that had potential in the beginning but ultimately injuries destroyed his career. He’ll probably retire in one or two years.

      1. He should terminate his contract early and then announce his retirement. I don’t think there is any way back for him after all his injuries.

And to recap something, Messias 1.8 million, Rebic 3.5 million, Origi 4.5 million, Caldara 2.5 million.

So… we pay these four fringe players 12.3 million a season (and certainly more gross, as this is net).

And people are concerned if we bring in 3 or 4 more signings that likely would make 1/3rd or 1/2th less than that?

Insanity how much we pay these four. It just really sums up why they all need to go.

  1. Best of wishes to him and happy for him that he is met with open arms, im sure he will find his mojo back there and become a great success with them,
Thanks for some good years where he was one of our most important players at least for the first 2 seasons he was instrumental but he also still scored some important goals in the scudetto season even if they were sparse at that point.

  2. Lovely player when he was on. Unfortunately we need a step up to match our current status as title favourites and/or champions league semi finalists. Plus he couldn’t adapt to the number 9 and 10 roles to be a suitable backup so it was inevitable he’d go. All the best Ante! Thanks for the great service while you were with us!!
