Sven Botman has been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan ever since the January window and although there has been little progress lately, the interest remains. Something that the defender himself revealed, sort of.
Milan are looking for a centre-back, preferably left-footed, to replace their current captain Alessio Romagnoli. The latter’s contract is expiring and he’s expected to leave the Rossoneri for his boyhood club Lazio.
In an interview with ESPN Netherlands, while on international duty, Botman spoke about the transfer rumours. When the reporter asked if AC Milan is the club, then the defender broke out into a huge smile.
“The market? Of course, it’s difficult to separate things. It’s just an important moment for me, so I hear about this almost every day. Things are progressing and I hope there will be more clarity before the start of the pre-season. Milan? [smiles].”

Just like wasting money for something that we already have (Kalulu, Tomori n Kjaer). Better make the captain stay than use some money to buy Botman. Beside that, Kalulu can play as excelent right back if coach want to play Romagnoli or Kjaer on the pitch. So, better use that money to buy someone on other position, especially right flank….i think
Because Romagnoli is heading out, Gabbia is not a starter and Kjaer isn’t getting any younger…

Ibra is the captain of that locker room, Romagnoli needs to go. Calabria and Florenzi are more than sufficient on the flank. Please pause before you shit out of your mouth again. #SempreMilan

Solid player, but waste of money. Don’t buy. Either stay as is and keep Alessio or get Bremer if we can get him for a good price. Better for our system anyways.
for people saying we don’t need him, he is one of if not the best defensive prospects in the world of football right now, plus he would complete our already good defense with characteristics non of our starting defenders have, including but not limited to aerial prowess, being left footed and playmaking from the back. sky is the limit for him and the fact that Maldini, the best defender in history, wants him so bad proves my word.
I have seen him a lot, and I think he is a good defener, no doubt about that. But playing with a high line does not suit him, due to his lack of pace. Bremer fits our tactical set-up much better, He is close to unbeatable one-on-one.

He’s a fantastic defender and along with Sanches an opportunity the club just can’t miss on.
Maldini are crap when choose lord saladmaker,ballo Toure. But Maldini are very good choosen CB or LB for AC Milan . Just trust his choice if for CB . With botman ,Tomori,kalulu,Kjaer we have 4 ready starter CB . But probably Maldini have difficult now in head choose between botman or bremer

Sometimes a Ballo-Toure is the best you can do when you have 4m. How much did Saladmaker cost? Like 2m? He’s no Chiesa but Chiesa cost 45m. And this is all under FFP restrictions. Anyway, why beat a dead horse….
First.. We definitely need a starter CB in our team.
Of course Kalulu and Tomori is good. But we need a good bench. Botman, even though we are criticizing him, is one of the best defenders. Not only because of his physical presence, but also for his footballing IQ. He is very VERY intelligent defender.
Besides pace and tackling prowess, that’s what makes a defender good. Maldini wasn’t really fast, but still he is one of the greatest defenders of all time because of his insanely high footballing IQ. He could read the game before opponents would make their move..
That’s IQ is also why I want Pioli to try out Maldini Jr because Jr also has the IQ, but not the experience yet.
Botman has arial prowess, he can score goals and clear the ball with headers. Not only that, he can press forward with the ball and deliver pinpoint long passes, We need that as well against teams that are defending heavily.
He would be a surprisingly good addition.
I personally prefer Roma to stay and continue on with Kjaer, Roma and gabbia in bench with Tomori and Kalulu as starters.
But…
..I do understand that Kjaer, after so long away with injuries, is a gamble that we can’t afford when we are defending Champions in serie A and aiming to go far in UCL this year.. and Alessio, in his bad day is really really bad even tho I Absolutely respect our captain for everything he did for Milan when we had bad days.
