Watch: Camarda nets a fantastic brace for Italy U19s vs. Northern Ireland

By Oliver Fisher -

It is very much the AC Milan show at the U19 European Championship tonight as Francesco Camarda followed Kevin Zeroli’s opener to make it 2-0 to Italy.

Zeroli’s first-time shot gave the Azzurrini a lead in the 15th minute, and Camarda was on hand to double that lead. A weak back pass was pounced upon by the striker who found the far corner from the left side of the box from a narrow angle with a gorgeous curling shot.

Camarda would go on to get another goal just over two minutes into the second half. The Milan Primavera right-back Vittorio Magni whipped in a low cross that was powerfully converted at the near post.

  1. That failed back pass in extra time will teach that NI a lesson. Look up before attempting the play, if you aren’t 100%, clear it, get a whistle, throw in, regroup. Nice shot for Killa Cam, he had acres to set it up and made it count.

  2. Camarda put on some size there. That’s nice to see. also magni, had mentioned him previously. He the most game time last year for a full back, coming along nicely .

  3. Zeroli needs to be with the first team next Season he is already 19 otherwise a loan to another Serie A team. He looks ready and playing him in the third league will just delay his progress!

    1. Take it easy. Serie C is low, but with Futuro he will compete with grown up man there. Give him at least half a season there and see where he is. Milan has a lot of midfielders on his position, he would not get a lot of playing time with the big boys.

    2. Dude only play with kids before, if he join serie A team he will only warm their bench, we have Futuro now so the kids can play in the “real” league

    1. The only way that happens is if we get the squad down.

Last season Barcelona had a first team squad of 22 players with young making up some additional players.

They had 5 players for 3 attacking positions one of which was Yamal.

This is why I have been saying we should be focusing on just 5 attacking players:

      – Chuk
      – Puli
      – Leao
      – Okafor
      – Camarda
      – Morata

Those 6 will play across 3 positions – Chuk, Puli, Okafor and Leao cover the flanks, Okafor can also play CF, and Camarda can provide a third option at CF.

        1. Well if he takes his chances he could be second or first choice.

There’s only one way to find out. Get him out there.

If he isn’t quite ready he’ll get minutes off the bench particularly with the 5 sub rule.

And he can play in the youth team to keep his sharpness and development.

The same challenge applies for senior players especially new signings if they don’t get minutes so I don’t see why people don’t raise these concerns about them.

    2. Yamal also came through Barca B, who play in Liga B.
Milan are following suit, but we’re just a decade or so behind in terms of Futuro.

Having them play games between Serie C and the First team will be key.

  4. Also, a goal from Zeroli, an assist from Magni, and a particularly good display from Bartesaghi.
The club has made good investments in the youth sector.

  5. 😀 What the hell ! I just realized that Emil Roback who recently turned 21 has joined the Thai football club Muangthong United. What an utter waste that kid turned out to be.

    1. How did he ever stand a chance when we had about 15 strikers on our books!

Add him to the list of thousands who have passed through Milan like passengers at an airport.

      1. Well I’m not saying talents shouldn’t be given chances but they will also have to deserve their chances through training hard each and every day and show progress and development. Roback couldn’t even cut it in the Danish league where he was on loan at FC Nordsjælland who had an option to buy and is one of the best places for young players in Northern Europe. He was also loaned back to the Swedish league at one of his former clubs and couldn’t cut it either there and they also had an option to buy so let me ask you this doesn’t that actually sound like a kid who deserved to play for us.
My answer to that question is HELL NO and the fact that he is now wasting his career at such a young age In Thailand absolutely support that claim.

        1. Agree. I also heard this guy have some attitude problem too, iirc.

Some of those that don’t get chance, will shine eventually if they are good.

But those that can’t even do well at smaller club in worse competition, and don’t show anything of note, has no business with us.

Talent always come and go. Not all talent will bear fruit, it depends on a lot of things.

          1. Yeah I agree and if my memory serves me right which it generally does he then went missing several weeks or a month or something while on loan at norrkøping where nobody was informed about his whereabouts. That is simply amateure hour at its worst.

Absolutely some marriages are just not bound to work out well.

Yeah he had a great chance to bounce back at FC Nordsjælland and the fact that they didn’t want to exercise their buy option does indicate that there is something wrong. If he was so great as we were made to believe he would have had no issues finding a better option than one in Thailand as he has age on his side.

            Absolutely.

  6. Watched the whole game. Bartesaghi was MOM, Zeroli’s passing was key, Magni was solid, Camarda looked absolutely class to be honest.

He’ll get some minutes this season I’m sure. It’s the right thing he spends a year getting kneed in the back of the legs by stronger men, he needs that as a striker.

Zeroli and Bartesaghi both deserve decent first team minutes this year – half an hour here, half an hour there.

Dortmunds Mane is a player with the world at his feet, too.
