Watch: Milan loanee Daniel Maldini scores important goal in Monza win

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan loanee Daniel Maldini cut his loan at Empoli short in January and joined Monza instead. Tonight, he scored his first goal for the club, opening the scoring against Salernitana with a nice finish.

Maldini struggled to get playing time at Empoli, first suffering an injury which kept him out for nine games and then failing to break into the starting XI. Therefore, the loan was cut short in January and Milan loaned him out to Monza instead.

Tonight, he came off the bench in the 67th minute against Salernitana and scored just ten minutes later, playing a nice one-two with a teammate before finding the bottom corner. You can take a look at the goal in the video below.

Monza ended up winning the game 2-0 and Maldini’s goal was a rather important one, seeing as it broke the deadlock.

Milan will be hoping that he can continue like this as, regardless of whether he will be with the first team next season, this will increase his price tag. As long as he can stay injury free, and enjoy the trust of Raffaele Palladini, it could be a good rest of the season for him.

  1. Well youre right with Christian maldini, Paulo and Cesare as they are all retired. Here’s hoping Daniel has a better career than his brother

  2. Maldini almost had an assist in it too, he got a teammate a 1-on-1 with the Gk, but it got parried.

Marco Pellegrino was also playing for Salernitana.
