Watch: Gabbia scores late to earn Milan’s first derby win in two years

AC Milan won their first derby in two years after a late goal from Matteo Gabbia which sent the Curva Sud into pandemonium.

After Inter equalised in the first half, the game was quite back and forward, but it would be fair to suggest Milan had the better of the chances in the second half, forcing Yann Sommer to make several good saves.

The pressure was too much for the Nerazzurri, though, and after the Rossoneri won a free-kick Tijjani Reijnders delivered a fantastic ball into the box which Gabbia met beating his marker to the ball and powered the ball into the back of the hosts’ net.

A fantastic header from an even better set-piece and a fitting ending to the game after a brilliant performance. After the criticisms of the club this week, there was a perfect chance to restart the season, and the Rossoneri took it and took it well.

Milan 2, Inter 1.
