Watch: Galatasaray fans turn up in numbers as Leao lands in Turkey

Rafael Leao has landed in Turkey, Istanbul to be precise, and he was greeted by tons of Galatasaray fans at the airport. 

Yesterday, the ‘Here we go’ arrived for Leao’s transfer to Galatasaray as the Turkish club reached a total agreement with Milan. The move, which is a permanent one, is worth €45m plus bonuses and the Rossoneri will also be entitled to a percentage of a future sale.

After Milan’s win against Venezia last night, Leao said goodbye in the mixed zone and he was also interviewed by journalists at Linate Airport earlier today. While he admitted that he would have wanted a different farewell, he’s now fully focused on Galatasaray.

Galatasaray fans celebrate Leao’s arrival

Earlier this afternoon, the Portuguese international landed in Turkey and as he walked out of the airport, there were tons of Galatasaray fans there to greet him. Turkish fans have always been very good at creating an electric atmosphere, but clearly the star power of Leao also helps.

The transfer will free up some space on Milan’s accounts and they will also be able to register a decent capital gain. As a result, especially since Gerry Cardinale has decided to stay in the city until the deadline, they could perhaps make one or two signings in these final days.
