AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez got on the scoresheet for Mexico in their friendly against Switzerland yesterday, bagging the equaliser in the second half.
Gimenez got the chance from start in the friendly, playing alongside Raul Jimenez up front, and he responded with a goal. After somewhat questionable defending, as you can see in the video below, the Rossoneri No.7 found the back of the net with a header.

Switzerland then scored two goals in rather quick succession, running away with the win, and the game finished 2-4 in the end. Gimenez was subbed off in the 73rd minute and while he will be disappointed with the result, the goal was important.
It was only his fourth goal for the Mexican national team, despite 34 appearances to his name, so it will no doubt be a confidence boost. Not to mention that the first six months with Milan were rather tough, and the Rossoneri could use him in good spirits ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Despite rumours of Milan wanting another striker to bolster the squad, Gimenez is indeed expected to be the starter next season. The first weeks with Max Allegri during pre-season will likely be decisive in understanding his role as well.
