Olivier Giroud got his fourth goal of the season and his third goal from the penalty spot to put AC Milan in the lead against AS Roma early on.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek went powering through on goal and appeared to have had his effort thwarted, but the replay showed that Rui Patricio had taken the midfielder out with his studs and thus a penalty was given.
Giroud made absolutely no mistake from 12 yards, finishing emphatically as he has done the other three times.
