Watch: Giroud rescues Milan from Nice disappointment with debut strike – the goals

By Isak Möller -

Milan took part in their third friendly clash of the pre-season this evening, facing Nice away from home. After conceding in the second half, they managed to rescue a draw, courtesy of an Olivier Giroud header.

Nice took the lead after 59 minutes through a penalty, which was awarded to them by the referee. It’s safe to say that the decision was dubious, as Rade Krunic barely got a touch on the Nice attacker.

Fortunately, just minutes after coming on to make his debut,  Giroud found the back of the net with a lovely header. Coming just six minutes after Nice’s opener as well, it was a relief for the Rossoneri.

Pioli made quite a lot of changes throughout the game (10 in total) and Milan finished the game with a three-man backline, which looked promising. After Giroud’s goal, though, they didn’t really have many dangerous chances.
