Watch: Giroud scores vs. Poland to become France’s all-time leading scorer

By Oliver Fisher -

Olivier Giroud became France’s all-time leading goal scorer as he gave them the lead against Poland in the World Cup round of 16.

Didier Deschamps rested Giroud for the defeat against Tunisia but reinstated him in the starting line-up for the game against Poland, with the 36-year-old rewarding his decision by scoring the opening goal with an instinctive finish into the bottom corner.

It moves him onto 52 goals for France, which moves him one ahead of Thierry Henry as the all-time leading scorer.
