Filippo Inzaghi took part in the Fabrizio Miccoli legends game yesterday, but most AC Milan fans didn’t recognise him inside the penalty box.
Miccoli is a name that many who have followed Serie A for some time will recognise, having played 179 games for Palermo. Not only that, but he also managed to find the back of the net 81 times (six times against Milan), while providing an impressive 48 assists.

To honour his legacy, Palermo decided to host a ‘Legends Game’ at Renzo Barbera on Saturday evening. Several prominent names took part in the game, including Federico Balzaretti, Josip Ilicic, Amauri and also the Milan legend Pippo Inzaghi.
Huge miss from Super Pippo
However, while it was nice to see Inzaghi on the pitch again, most Milan fans didn’t recognise him right at the start of the game. Mattia Cassani set it up on a silver platter for the striker after a nice one-two, but he somehow missed the target (see video below).

Inzaghi couldn’t quite believe it himself afterwards, known for his ability to always find the back of the net and seek out the right positions in the box. He got the positioning absolutely spot on, but the finish is something he will want to forget.
