Watch: Jovic arrives at Casa Milan to complete loan move to Rossoneri

By Isak Möller -

Luka Jovic has arrived at Casa Milan to complete his deadline-day move to AC Milan on a season-long loan. After failing to sign their other targets, the Rossoneri accelerated for the Serbian striker.

The 25-year-old striker is owned by Fiorentina and after 13 goals last season, they agreed to send him out on loan. La Viola recently welcomed Lucas Beltran as well as M’Bala Zola and thus felt a loan would be best for Jovic.

Just a few minutes ago, the former Real Madrid man arrived at Casa Milan to complete his move to the Rossoneri. The formula should be a season-long loan and Milan should pay his salary.

It’s worth noting that Jovic’s contract with Fiorentina will expire next summer and this Milan could decide to keep him at the end of the loan.

  1. He’s the second striker and maybe even someone like Okafor ends up playing ahead of him. Of course we need a real upgrade at this position next summer but this seems fine for now given the massive upgrades to the rest of the attack.

      1. @Kimi

Agreed buddy, more like 3rd choice striker behind Giroud/Okefor with a (very small) chance of reclaiming his Eintracht glory days.

Plus don’t forget. Jovic 2.5mn wages we can offload next summer if we want, Origi multi year 4mn wages. From a purely financial standpoint it was smart business.

Now gotta hope Jovic isn’t useless on the pitch

        Forza Milan

  2. He still has better stats than Origi, heard it’s a free loan, I think it’s a good deal for what might turn into a super sub. Worst case we didn’t pay for him and we use Okafor

    1. From what I’ve seen so far I haven’t been impressed by Okafor. I believe Jovic would be a better back up plan for Giroud than Okaf

  3. Although the ending is not as expected, but I’m quite satisfied with overal mercato this summer. I am quite optimistic for Milan this year. Some fans forgot that dealing with real transaction is not as easy as in Football Manager game.

  4. Don’t be mad milanisti. This was the absolute best solution. Why buy a player who is not good enough and give him a contract for 3years out of desperation. We’re supposed to be getting rid of deadwood not bringing it in.

Jovic got 13 goals last year and not too long ago was brought into madrid for over 60m. A dry loan and if he performs we can bid for him, if not we go fully in for a top striker next season. All the names we’ve been linked to in the last day haven’t concinced me that they will be a top striker for years to come including taremi!

    1. And if he doesn’t perform and is useless? What in that case? What is the use of having Luka Jovic in the dressing room with his awful attitude and paying him?

        1. And was better în your opinion to pay 15m from that guy that is substitute at Sevilla and scored 2 goals în an entire year, mir or how is his name

      1. When has it ever come out he has an awful attitude? And if it’s a season long loan that’s the best of it all we don’t have to wish he’s gone. Next year we can go for someone like david

        1. Well he was almost imprisoned during COVID in Serbia, which had no mask rules and really didn’t enforce anything. It was in every single media outlet x 10. After that Real Madrid gave him away for free just to get rid of him. Fiorentina is doing the same now. Why? If he is a bad player why is Milan signing him? No logic.

        2. Yes, they can go for a better striker but they also could have got a better backup that isn’t pushed out of clubs? I mean if it was planned to bring in a striker how can you end up with Jovic on 1st of September at 7PM.

Well, Furlani said there will be a surprise and it was a bad bad surprise.

          1. With one day left tell me any name that we were linked with that would have been a better option because I already know next year we’d be fighting to get them off our books like we have been with caldara, origi, and ballo!!

        1. Je, zato ga Viole tjeraju. Jer je izvrstan igrač. I Real ga je isto potjerao džabe, jer je top igrač i prekrasna osoba. Svi čekaju da se vrati…

        1. He is free next summer, but Fiorentina can trigger an optition for another two years contract with Jovic, but than we can trigger another clause for a loan for another year.
That last year he should either return to Fiorentina or we can buy him from them

  5. I guess time is running out, i would just keep colombo but i think for him its better he developes in Monza for now.

This guy is a royal failure with bad attitude. One spoiled apple ca ruin the basket. That my biggest fear, not that he will be paid to watch matches from premium seat

  6. Just hope that Milan is the right environment for him. We know that a change of scenery can do a world to someone. Man what a ride.

  7. Just hope that Milan is the right environment for him. We know that a change of scenery can do a world to someone. Man, what a ride!

    1. That will probably happen because Fiorentina is looking to get rid rid of him. Same what Madrid did. I’ve never heard of a player that 2 clubs in a row wanted him out in that way.

          1. I’m well aware of it. Even on his Transfermarkt you could see it. But do you know how the extension contract option work? It should’ve been activated before his initial contract is expired. And it becomes tricky when loan deal is involved, where the loan ends at the same time that the initial contact ends.

That simply means technically the decision is up to the player now (or later). That’s why we have the option to extend in this deal. And that’s why many clubs extend a player’s contract first before sending him on loan.

  8. Giroud scored 18 goals and 7 assist play a total of 3288min in all competition, while jovic has 15 goals 4 assist is all competition of 2022/2023 playing a total of 2592min.
Milan is a family where every player do well any player that flops in Milan will flop in any team.
Jovic deserves a chance and I hope he surprises us with goals.

  9. The positives:

He’s 24 and coming from another Serie A club

It’s a free loan, so we save 15mill on a transfer fee

His salary will be lower than Origi’s (I assume Origi is moving to Forest)

    He’s a backup

  10. Luka will have a friendly call from Zlatan 🙂
He understands the mentality of Luka…and then…redemption and revival….hope so..

  11. Perfect solution all things considered. No transfer fee paid, knows the league and can score, knows he’ll be second in line, and he is experienced.

Are there better strikers out there? Absolutely. But any in the range of ACM remaining transfer budget? Who can score and be an asset this season?
Name me one realistic alternative, I’ll wait.

Next summer I reckon ACM will get an attacker for years to come. I hope for David from Lille.

  12. Anyone complaining about this is an idiot. He is free and he scored goals last season. Real Madrid didn’t even give him a chance and pushed him out. Let’s see what he does at Milan before we judge him. Don’t forget Paqueta and Silva, both doing great after leaving Milan.

    1. You can stop with Silva. He had one good season after he left Milan 20/21 and is now at real sociedad.
Last season he scored 7 goals for leipzig. 4 in bundes and 3 in cl. Not really doing great numbers, a?

        1. Yeah, that is why Madrid and Fiorentina threw him out of the club. Don’t be a keyboard manager and watch what the clubs are doing. Getting rid of him for 0.

          1. LOL You base his skills on Real Madrid kicking him out – Real Madrid destroyed more players than any other club. Jovic scores goals for Fiorentina and we don’t know why they didn’t want to keep him. I don’t watch what other clubs are doing – I only watch what Milan is doing. Watching other clubs is for newbs like you.

        2. if/when he comes ill give him a foking chance. not thrilled about it tho..
And im the best keyboard manager you ever came across buddy

  13. Jovic is an excelent player with terrible behavior. This is the last chance he can get to revive his career and I think he knows that. If he performs well, we will get him for free next summer and if he doesn’t we get rid of him for free unlike the rest of the deadwood we got stick to in the last years.
Anyway, he has better potential then the other players we were related to, like Daka – the 3rd striker in a team that got relegated, unknown Mir or even worse Taremi…

    1. Nevem kako lahko Taremija daš v isti koš ko je nekaj let v Portu odličen strelec.. Za ostale imaš prav ampak Taremi bi nas dobro pojačal

      1. He spent his whole career in Iran, and had a few good seasons in weak Portugese league which doesn’t gurantee that he could maintain the phisycality of Italian league.
Second, he played more like behind the striker (this season Toni Martinez) then as a real striker as we need.
Third, he is slow, clumsy and has no technique.
And the last, we pay 15M for him, in rush of the transfer market end, get stick to him in the next 3 seasons with low possibility of reselling since his age and quality and even holding us one non-EU spot

  14. I’m just glad we got someone in in time. Incidentally daka is signing with Bournemouth so I’m not sure we were really ever in for him and Jovic just happened to be within a 100 miles in the afternoon. Listen, most of you lot 2 years ago would have been wetting your pants if we managed to secure him for 30m. I actually think he could be a decent player alongside giroud. Not the definitive starting striker I wanted but certainly no dummy. Forza Luka

  16. Can’t say I’m excited about Jovic. But this is what happens when you are scrambling last minute – you get what’s left over. He’s always had the talent but it’s the attitude that is the problem and not sure he is a great fit in a one striker system that we use. Not sure this helps us now if/when Giroud is out. Maybe we can add someone else in January as not securing a reliable #9 was a mistake IMO in what was otherwise a very successful transfer market.

It’s a good deal from an economic standpoint as he is a FA in the summer and we can just walk away if he doesn’t do anything – and if we does maybe we found a solid striker for the future (not holding my breath).
