Luka Jovic has officially left AC Milan, as the club decided not to use the renewal clause in his contract, and his goal tally thus stopped at 13. However, which of those were his best?
While Jovic rarely got the chance from start, at least if you look at his entire two-year spell as one, he still managed to make a difference for the Rossoneri. For a while, he was a proper super sub for the team and this season, he also scored some good goals from start.

Despite this, Milan decided not to renew his contract and the Serbian is now a free agent, ready to continue his career elsewhere. Below, we take a look at his top five goals with the red and black shirt.
First goal against Inter (3-0 win, 2024-25)
The Serbian scored two goals in this game, as most of you will know, but while the second one was a bit scrappy, the first was lovely. He showed great movement inside the box to beat his man and the header was spot on as well. Credit to Alex Jimenez for the assist.
Goal against Frosinone (3-1 win, 2023-24)
It was a rather comfortable win for Milan, but Jovic’s goal (the opener of the game) came just before the break and thus set it all up. Once again, he showed great awareness inside the box with the goal and the volley strike was just lovely.
First goal against Cagliari (3-1 win, 2023-24)
This was in the Coppa Italia round of 16 and Stefano Pioli fielded a lot of youngsters, as well as some usual bench players. Jovic certainly took advantage of the opportunity, scoring two goals. The first was the best, though, bringing a cross down before calmly slotting it home.
Goal against Salernitana (2-2 draw, 2023-24)
As we saw with so many of Jovic’s goals at Milan, he knows a thing or two about being in the right place at the right time. This goal was another example of that, picking up the flick-on with a volley in the box. It wasn’t the easiest of finishes but he did really well, it must be said.
Goal against Napoli (2-1 defeat, 2024-25)
Although this was a defeat for Milan, Jovic at least gave Milan a chance with a nice tap-in. His movement was great, anticipating where the cross would end up and finding the space in between the Napoli defenders.
Halaand himself won’t do shite without service. There’s this guy called Paul Onuachu and he scored many goals in Belgium and I don’t see him as a great striker but guess what? They fed him. Bring in whoever you will but if you can’t make the team play in sych a way that they’re able to create chances – amd I’m not talking about half chances – then it’s all bound to fail. Towards the end of last season we saw that the guy even has good hold up play and can even drop back to act as a pseudo-playmaker but what do I know? This ain’t Fifa so let’s spend on Vlahovic and Moise Kean. I wonder what we gonna do with Colombo also.
Exactly. It’s next to impossible to find a striker as capable as Jovic without splashing out 2/3 of the budget. Jovic is a +10 goals per season type of guy with proper service. Vlahovic and Darwin are no better but they cost an arm and a leg plus their salary demands are 2-4x bigger. Should have kept Jovic.

We could have got a more than decent backup striker for free with just renew of his contract. He is very injury prone, so I can understand the decision in a way. But still, to get a player of his quality you need to pay 30m.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I’ll go to my FM game save and give him a contract extension! The last few games we played, he had excellent hold up play, his jinks and feints were on point. there is no way moise kean is a better player. Vlahovic without service is no basically a one footed player who will run headlessly on the field.
And let’s not forget how much Vlahovic & Kean cost. And their salary demands are from another planet compared to Jovic too.
Like what exactly are they (ppl running the club) expecting from BACKUPS?? Are they thinking they need a Haaland level striker off the bench??
Well, if our backups were scoring like starters then they wouldn’t be backups. But him and Okafor when we got them…..20 goals contributions from the bench…what more could they want? But nah when u don’t understand what you’re seeing it’s hard to run a club properly
