There were some doubts about whether Rafael Leao would start Portugal’s second Euro 2024 group game against Turkey, and even though he did his evening last just 45 minutes.
The winger was replaced at half-time by coach Roberto Martinez with the scoreline stood at 2-0 for the Portuguese, after a first half in which Leao had contributed to starting the move for the opening goal.
As he did against the Czech Republic, the ex-Lille man received a yellow card and once again for simulation. For this reason Leao will miss the next match of the Seleçao, against Georgia scheduled on June 26th at 21:00 CEST, because two bookings in the groups equals a suspension.

Leao is not doing his market value any favours this season. He’s been dreadful for Portugal, lazy and wasteful.

There is a lot of wasted talent.
He is too inconsistent to be a big player.
Very important for us but sometimes he is one of the worst players. And now he isn’t young anymore.
Either Fonseca can make him become more like the Leao of two years ago or noone is going to pay a huge sum for him.
He hasn’t been taking runs for Portugal which is unbelievable as there have been several occassions to do so. He seems totally off.
That’s why 100m is just about right for him.
Been saying it for awhile now. Leao is a fantastic player but will never be world class because of his attitude. He’s lazy and doesn’t have that killer instinct
He’s superficial, inconsistent, lazy, self-sufficient, has a weak mind, poor attitude. He will never be a true champion, a leader , because he has no ambition, no “hunger” . One good match and next 5 he is like “invisible man” , a ghost on the field. Too bad because talent is there but it’s not enough. And time is running fast for football players…

This is disappointing. Utterly disappointing.
His first yellow was a penalty or close to though. There was an angle which showed he got clipped. Hes moving so fast the refs eyes can’t keep up

Agree there was slight contact on his yellow in the first game. But the rest of his body language showed he clearly felt the contact and fell over on purpose.

He did smirk afterwards though so I can’t tell if he knew he embellished a bit but he got clipped for sure. Shouldn’t have been a yellow tho. But these things happen
I dislike cheats and cheating, whether it is a Milan player or opponent.
He has embarrassed himself, his club and his country.
Much and all as I love Leao, it is high time he grew up and acted with some dignity
