This season, Mike Maignan has faced more criticism than in previous seasons. However, his display in AC Milan’s clash against Fiorentina was a great example of form being temporary and class being permanent.
For Maignan and Milan, it has been a season of ups and downs, and both affect each other. If the Frenchman plays well, the Rossoneri gain points, and vice versa. Yesterday, he made a significant contribution to the outcome of the game with several good saves.

The best of them all was in the 63rd minute when the ball fell kindly to loanee Andrea Belotti, who struck the ball well, and Maignan pulled off a brilliant save to keep the game at 2-1. However, this was one of just six saves made during the game, which earned him an 8 in our player ratings yesterday.
There is a lot of doubt about what is next for Maignan, given there is still distance between the club and the Frenchman regarding his next contract. With a report suggesting that the 28-year-old could leave this summer if an exceptional offer arrived, it is yet to be seen what will happen.

But he’s declining! Experts here said so! 😱
Those kind of saves are needed every week when you earn 7-8M€/y though.
Currently he’s “only” earned 2.8 mill /year
And he’s not making those each week.
