Mike Maignan is known for being highly skilled with his feet, often used as a resource by AC Milan in the build-up. However, while he did well for the most part against ZTE this evening, disaster nearly struck.
The Frenchman received a backpass from Rade Krunic and intended to pass it on with his first touch. However, he didn’t get a clean hit on the ball, which nearly made its way into the back of the net.

It would have been a rather comical own-goal and certainly uncharacteristic for Maignan, who perhaps was a bit humbled from this experience. Milan lost the game 3-2 after conceding three goals in the first half.
Thank goodness this didn’t happen, after all the good works and praises last season.
